I think its a great idea, the ad is way too old.

Take it down and put in back with a lower price, and with better photos.

The floor mats look odd, and need to be black, they look like they are grey, faded or washed out.

Have you gone to a dealer like CarMax for a quote?

If something is on the market for this long, its either priced wrong (too high), or in poor condition and not reflected in the price.

Red is a a slower color to sell, though it should have sold a while ago.

Either way good luck.

The floor mats are perfectly clean gray. Why are they supposed to be black?

Everyone in the club that has seen my car can vouch for how nice it is. Everyone I've spoken to wants it for the low 30s and I'm just not going to sell a perfect Viper for that price.

I think the price is in line...good luck! The mats may be new, but they stand out and not in a good way...your attention goes to the mats since they don't match anything else about the car.

Please don't take my reply as anything but a little marketing assistance and thoughtfulness on my part.

I looked at the photos when it was originally listed, and again today.
I'm sorry and I don't care if the floor mats are pink, blue or green, but the gray look in a black interior car in your photos makes it look sun faded, weathered, and worn.

The floor mats look awful, and therefore, reflect badly on the photos of your car.

That's great that other members think your car is the cat's meow, but unless they are buying it, it really doesn't matter and neither does what came with the car when it was new, or when you bought it.

The mats should accent and blend in with the car, not stand out and they do.

It doesn't matter what color the mats were in the car when you bought it, or when it was brand new, it only matters what's in the car now, and what the market thinks, and if I'm the buying *****, I think IMHO, the photos looks awful.

Take the mats out, then take new photos, and let the beauty of the car, and not the floor mats be the issue.

If I listed a home, and its perfect in every single way, except the walls are fluorescent green, I assure you the walls will be repainted with a fresh coat of paint in a neutral well-liked color before I spend any time or effort marketing the home.

I don't care what someone does with their home when they live in it, but once they want to sell it and I get involved, I tell people all the time, "The home should look the best its ever looked the day you list it."

Your price is good but not a steal, look at the pricing of 03's and 04's on autotrader, craigs list etc. Your in the NW, sell local or make a better deal for out of state buyers to travel/ship.

Your mats are from a gen II, look at the logo

Good luck!!

Roanoke apparently sold it with Gen2 floor mats, then. I'll replace them. I never really cared about the floor mats but I can see how someone may think they're off.

Yes, they should be black. This is a very nice car, I have seen it in person and been under it on a lift.

But a red SRT is just so rare!!

The pics aren't bad. The floor mats aren't killing your sale. The price is fair... Drop it to 37 and it is probably gone immediately. My .02...

People need to have cash to afford toys... There just isn't that much floating around!

Maybe you could help and buy the car since your reply doesn't help the sale.

The car has been listed almost a year now, what is it then?

People look at ads and photos, and if they don't like what they see immediately, within seconds, they move on.

Yes, the floor mats make a difference when they stand out and scream fugly and take away from the overall appeal of the car.

Its a real easy fix, and no mats are even required, take them out of the car now, take new fresh photos, write a new ad, and sell the car. Why wait another year?

Furthermore, he's already been helped, he's getting more valuable free marketing time on this thread, than he would for people searching for year old ads.

I'm just saying......

I was thinking about your car when I was shopping but I wanted a coupe. I kinda wish I would have bought yours and had a little $$ for mods. Good luck with your sale. I'll give you my SRT-10 truck and some cash!!:D I love red!

In all honesty, in today's market, the price is a bit high. Case in point: I just purchased a 2005 yellow srt10 with 7,000 miles on it for $42,000. 2 years newer with half the mileage for a couple of grand difference. There's good deals to be had out there, and people are finding them. That's why your car's not selling. Anyone serious about buying a viper wouldn't give a pinch of pigeon poop about floor mats. They'd just ask you to replace them and send them new photos.

I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but it's reality.

The price is right in line no matter who says they got a better deal or feel they need to inform you of the "reality." The floor mats.....well to say that is holding the sale is so stupid I won't dignify that with a comment. Someone will step forward but things are tight all around. Forget the so called great advice here. Price is fair, car looks good, it will sell in time.

Wow, pretty strong comments, and I must disagree, as you say:

"The price is right..."

"The floor mats.....well to say that is holding the sale is so stupid I won't dignify that with a comment."

Please do....., yes, you're right, the price is right, it has beautiful floor mats, and you say because "things are tight all around".

And "it will sell in time:"

Well he can't change the market conditions can he? Nope

Is it appreciating in value by waiting? Nope.

But he can do things to better position himself for the sale in today's environment because this is when he's selling it, and the market dictates time and price.

What can he change? The price, the mats, redo the ad, retake the photos, no, I'm sorry, it's not "stupid" advice.

Doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different outcome is just plain wrong.

You comments reflect the reason why it's been listed for a year.

Its an easy fix, and can't hurt, -ditch the mats, redo the ad, and take new photos OR lower the price.

Or he can take your words of wisdom, "things are tight all around" and have it listed for a 2nd year.

I'd just say that you should look at the ads on ebay and find what catches your eye and duplicate that style in photos and wording

I'm pretty sure that at that price, you would have no problem selling it on ebay ... just having it on the VCA website significantly reduces your buying market. You could also throw in a subscription to the VCA for the winning buyer.

I also agree, ditch the mats

If a car sits forever at the same price then its priced to high. Its that simple. I also made an offer on this car and it was refused which was the best thing that ever happened as I too bought a 2 year newer car which was perfect in every way. Ive spoken to the owner and he is a super nice guy. But you're stuck on $39,000.00 and its not selling. You can hold it forever if you want to but at some point it will either sell or it wont and if doesnt the only way you will ever sell it is to drop the price. I have a 98 GTS for sale still and guess what...price is coming down and will continue to do so until it sells. It's the age old saying. "It's only worth what someone is willing to pay". Not a dime more. It does look to be a great car but it might be time to drop the price.

Nope. Yours is tucked away safely in the garage waiting for the sun to come out so we can go play. Unfortunatley we are having the worst summer in history weather wise with almost constant rain and cool temps. Very depressing. I've only put about 100 miles on the car.
