tires question

I am now in Windsor, ON and it seems like the only tire anyone has is the PS2. Normally I would cross to the US to get the tires but I am in the midst of getting it imported and having safety/emissions tested. Birthday just passed so my US plates are now expired.

I have no problem paying for the better tires and PS2 seem to be the best. However is 2000k for the tires really high? I am getting quoted about 2500 for them to be mounted and balanced. Is having mixed sets bad if I were to do say Kumho in the front and PS2 in the rear? Or is my best option to just have the viper tech at the dealer just order and install matching sets of PS2? Car is a 2000 GTS ACR. Thanks

Mixed sets very bad. Dont do that. Go with the PS2s all around. Either call PartsRack and have them shipped right to your dealer tech or have the tech do it all as you said.

Ok thanks. I'll try partsrack. I figured it may be more expensive to order from the states with the import fees and shipping though. Canada is one expensive country to own a car :rolaugh:

What size 17" (is 18" available)? and what is expected life of tire? decent in rain?

I just bought a new set of PS2's mounted and balanced from a dodge dealer. $1800 taxes included. I think I overpaid. I'm based in Montreal.

RACR77 has had good success with Costco believe it or not. PS2 were the cheapest from them he told me. Have to take them somewhere else to mount but he has bought 2 sets recently there. Maybe PM him for info. :dunno:

Wow...I am getting quoted 2700 balanced and mounted after taxes in Ontario...me thinks something is wrong here?! Ironically I have 3 different tire places in Windsor (Firestone, Pinnacle Chrysler and one other smaller place all quoting 2300 for the tires alone). :eater:

$1956 through Dan at Viper Specialty. I had them mounted/balanced when they were shipped to Tator. :smirk:
