Anyone interested in going to Buttonwillow for a NASA HPDE day on Saturday 6/26? I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area and thinking of driving down.

Has anyone been out to Buttonwillow lately? I have not been there and would welcome any thoughts on the track, events, etc. I attend Thunderhill and Sears Point events every so often.

I have driven my Viper and Miata at Buttonwillow. But, I haven't been there in a couple of years.
Nice track, good condition, lots of run off and very few places that you can actually hurt the car if you do go off track. Be carefull at the "bus stop" when going in the counter clockwise direction. I bounced off of the curb in the Miata and bent two rims. (Yeah, I am talented, this only place on the track that has a curb and the drive home was really really fun).
With that said, It is very tame compared to Sears Point or even Thunderhill. There is very little elevation change, but it is a great place to unwind!

Nice! Thanks for the vids and the info. I signed up last night for the Saturday 6/26 HPDE day and will be heading down from the San Francisco area late Friday night.
