Re: Where's Warfang?

Unfortunate news. I also enjoyed his posts and replies, seemed to be a lively character with some *****, ready and armed to debate, a valuable member to this VCA society and he'll surely be missed. RIP and condolences to Josh's family and friends.
Best regards,
Mike

I wish I had kept some of his clever, combative yet compassionate PM's to me...
Wish I hadn't tossed them... He will be missed.

Ahh, geez, I really liked him. We had some interesting and funny debates here, I was proud I was the one who talked him into being a VCA Member.
I was shocked when I read the title of the thread.

This is horrible. Warfang was my closest ally against the TC sissies and paddle-shift pansies. He always had my back and I his in those knockdown dragout battles here. He and I thought exactly alike when it came to Vipers and I suspect other topics as well had we ever had a chance to meet up. It is amazing how the internet makes such close friends without ever meeting. You will be very, very sorely missed good friend and forever remembered here at the VCA.

I had an odd feeling something was wrong when I noticed he hadn't been posting. I hope we can be informed as to what happened - illness, accident or other so we can all learn from whatever it was that took our great Viper bud from us.

RIP Warfang. :(

Re: WARFANG passed away at 36

Hi everyone,

I asked Josh's wife, Lily, for some info about what happened to Josh. Her reply is below. If anyone can help her out, she's trying to sell Josh's Viper. Info follows at the bottom. Thanks.

Maurice Liang
President
Viper Club of America
Northern CA Region

From Lily:
“Josh (Warfang) Lee passed away on February 11, 2010 at age 36. He was sick with severe pneumonia that progressed rapidly into acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and was put on a ventilator and admitted into the ICU. Always a big, strong guy, he fought for 24 days, surpassing all of the doctor’s worst case projections and we all believed he would pull through. Unfortunately he suffered a ruptured lung 21 days in and eventually suffered brain death from the prolonged oxygen deprivation.

He loved a great many things in life: his family, his work, his friends and his beloved Viper. He posted on the Viper forum religiously and considered all of you here his friends. Every time I think about him, out there, driving around his own private heaven in his candy striped Viper... It always brings a smile to my face. I hope everyone can forever remember him that way.

Thank you for all your kind words, your well wishes and your prayers.”

CAR INFO:

1997 Red Viper GTS
White stripes were added
Car was lowered a bit
Mileage 57,241
Asking price: $30,000 or best offer
Car is located in San Francisco Bay Area

The VCA is going to help his wife sell his Viper, so watch for it to appear on the VCA Classifieds soon. She wrote, "Josh passed away in February and I’ve wrestled with the idea of keeping the car because it was so much a part of him and who he was. However, I know that he would not want me to keep the car garaged 24/7 just to serve as a memento of him in my life." Much like the man, it is a great car that was very well loved.

NOOOOOO...OMG, I just heard and I am crying. Josh always made me *giggle like a schoolgirl* and he loved it. He joked that if "I wasn't taken, he'd fly up and come get me and take me away with him" I was JUST going to put up a post "WHERE IS WARFANG"? OMG...I am so sorry for his wife and family. What a terrific guy he was.
And, hey, Chuck98, Josh 'gave in' to my TC in my Corvette btw, cus he knew I'd not use it, I just wanted the paddle-shifters.
This is a terrible loss for everyone. :( :(

I wish I could buy it. I'd keep the plate and everything exactly as he kept it. And I'd drive it 'cause I know he'd want it driven.

Holy crap... I really liked him, as everyone else did. He was articulate, outspoken, had solid opinions about things - but was always polite and likeable. I was hoping to meet him one of these days. Really sux. My prayers go out to his family.

I thought about it and I do not think under the circumstances that Warfang would mind me sharing this PM thread with you. I think it captures who he was to many of us. He was special.

Not Native American, but if scientists are right in their frozen land bridge theory by the Aleutians... I might be genetically. :D

Chinese to be exact... Warfang was just a name to intimidate at the track... and p!$$ off the hippies in Berkeley. Stick the word "war" on anything and watch them foam at the mouth! :rolaugh:

Are you Taiwanese or Chinese? If Chinese, where is your family originally from? Do you speak Chinese? if so, what dialect? Mandarin? i ask because I believe that China is in the ascendancy and we are waning. Do you agree?

Actually, I'm both. Mom from Taiwan, dad from Northern China. Your observation about China is correct, and that scares me. Communism IS evil. My extended family were pretty much wiped out by Mao. My father barely escaped with his life at age 9 with only his schoolmates.

I speak a little Mandarin and some Taiwanese... neither fluently. I came here at age 4 and pretty much grew up baseball and apple pie. I'll side with this country anytime over China. We ARE waning, and the causes and solutions are way too complex to discuss here. It's frustrating sometimes how some people just don't GET it... isn't it?

Wow, so sorry to hear of such a tragic loss for a strong young man.

Warfand will be sorely missed by all members of the VCA, especially those on this forum that enjoyed the debate. We enjoyed his quick wit, and strong stance.

Our sincere condolences to his wife, and his family.
