After being ribbed about how bad my car looked with the plastic cowl removed. I finally vented it. Here you go Carmen, now it will look good for the Chrysler car show in Carlisle. I did this for you Carmen! I'll make you proud of the locals!

BTW, outputing 618 HP and working with the latest tune from DC Performance I'm getting 16 MPG. Yes, this has a Paxton on it. This car just keeps getting better! Oh, 16 MPG was doing 80 mpr in 6th gear.

It does already make a difference. Just remove yours and run the car to see how much of a difference it makes. I can see the heat coming out when I am sitting at a red light. The engine cools down quicker too after I shut it off. Also remember I put a hole in my speaker cover and that realy has helped. Every little bit of ventalation is helping. I can see this in my temp gauge.

It helps. I installed the autoform cowl a couple of years ago and as Bolt mentioned I see the heat bellowing out of the cowl now.

fine work and pics, Bolt

i've been thinking of doing this too, just concerned if it will make washing the car difficult,

anything under the cowl that needs to stay dry, :dunno:

i drive in the rain when i have to

anything to bleed heat is tempting

I have been thinking about getting an Autoform vented cowl. Do they fit well?

I just put mine on a few days ago and plan on following up with some pics and comments to compliment the previously started review at Parts Rack. If I can still get to that area :rolaugh:

Anyway, the fit is not perfect and the mounting instructions about how to fit it to the windshield blows chunks. Still give it an A- though. A recommended part if you will.

Yep...mine went on fine. The only difficult part was removing the black weather stripping from the OEM cowl without tearing it and then gluing it on the new autoform one. Very doable. In hindsight, I would do what Bolt did and drill the holes followed by wire mesh.

Great idea with the dark wire mesh. I'll do that after the show. Thank you for the great idea. :headbang:

There is nothing under that part of the cowl to be concerned with washing or getting wet. All wires are sealed pretty good and if you plug wires are effected by the water than they will need replaced anyway.:dunno:

When you take off your wiper, does your fluid line just come off with it? Should I drain the fluid before removing it?

Does anyone have any pictures of the Auto Form cowl installed?

The fluid lines come off easy. The conectors are located just underneath the cowl.

Thanks for the info. guys. I just might have to give Autoform a call... or from what I heard to get it sooner JonB.

Tom, I have one in my basement you can test fit to see if you want one. The only pain to me was getting another weather stripping to install. You either have to take your stock one off your OEM cowl, run without one (doesn't look right to me), or get a spare cowl and take off the weather stripping. I found a spare cowl real cheap and went that route.

Dave, what was the cost of that cowl? My TT could use all the under hood cooling it can get!

BTW, nice write-up... as usual!

Contact Parts Rack for current pricing on the AF cowl. It was a little less than the list price that Jason mentioned.

I'm surprised you can pass inspection without wipers in Texas Jason. I know from the days of getting my dune buggy set up that if you have a windshield, you gotta have wipers. Hence, no windshield in the buggy LOL. Or should I say windscreen for all you British chaps...
