Well, have you bought a GT yet? I plan on buying a Gallardo when I'm finished with the Viper, only because it would be about $50k cheaper than a Ford GT. If I could afford a GT, I would have one. I've driven my friend's TT Ford GT a few times, and it's a very nice and civil car, with easier up-keep (compared to the Lambo's).

Well, you guys pretty much confirmed what I already was thinking. The FGT was my first pick, then I saw an Orange G convert, and fell in love. My Viper is VVO. But the thing that I'm reluctant about is the depreciation and service costs. One of my best friends owns a Ford dealership so I know the Ford will be reasonable for maintenance. Now I just need to find the one I want. I may wait until the fall or winter. May be better deals then.

You can wait, but I wouldnt count on a 15k price slashing just because of a season change. The GT is strong in value and has slightly risen in the last year. They will be the first cars to come all the way back. Good luck.

Since you mentioned a Lambo G vert you saw you obviously know the Ford cannot be had as a vert, which would seal the deal for me if I were you...if the top cannot go down or come off I want nothing to do with it.

The FGT definitely came in a vert. It was called the GTX1. Kind of out of a lot of peoples price range at 299k and up though.

my 2C...get the gallardo...'06 or better, upgraded clutch, e-gear software...think the lambos are the only cars that get as many looks as the Viper...the fact that they still produce the cars are a +.

This is a no brainer. Buy American, and buy the GT. That is the baddest car Ford has ever made and the Gallardo is the lil brother of the Murci, and they are everywhere. GT's are extremely rare and is a much better looking car.

Thanks man. My Gallardo twin turbo is still getting tuned for a mile high. Jasons tech is flying down to tune her for my thin air. So I will have to wait till after the tune to see how she compares. I LOVE my GT40 I think it is my fav, but I really like the Murci alot as well as the F430. They are like my kids I like them all,but if I had to keep just one it would be the GT40:drive:

Lambo dealers **** and can't fix anything right the first time. At least that's been my experience with my Gallardo and the dealers in Florida.

I don't own either, but would certainly take the GT over any Lambo. The Lambo is the designer purse for men. It's high quality, and always has incredible styling, BUT has a stigma. If your not driving the latest model your hyper rich Lambo group looks at you like your a want-a-be. The GT is timeless and that's the only reason it's holding it's value.

In the end I could care less what anyone else thinks, and would buy the car I like. Clearly your not like me, because your asking people on the net what car you should buy.

As a Ford Product Engineer, I know the quality we put into this and other vehicles. If reliability and quality are important factor, GT has it. Not sure how the Gallardo shapes up...but the reputation is not good.

I purchased my 2004 Gallardo in November 2004. I purchased a 2005 Ford F150 in December 2005. I have had more problems with my F150 than the Gallardo. The only difference is the Florida Lambo dealers can never fix anything right the first time which becomes a real PIA when there are no dealers near your house. I'm not trying to bash any type of car but I'm just letting people know what my experience has been. I like Ford's especially the Ford GT.

Sorry your 2005 has not measured up. I never owned a Ford prior to working for them. I bought two used SVT Contours for my twin sons both and now both have over a 150K miles and still really solid cars. Now living inside the Ford, I have watched progressive emphasis on quality . Hope next time, if you do try another Ford, will be better.

I really think everyone under estimates the rarity of the FGT. It's American, it has race history, it's easy to maintain, easy to get more out of it, looks great. Plus they build more Ferrari's and Lambos every single year then there are FGT. With all that said, I'm interested in a Gallardo. But just to own for a while. Just can't bring myself to buy another FGT in a different color.

Ford GT will draw more attention and hold its value better. The Gallardo will be quicker and better to drive more often.
