I'm getting married next Spring and the wedding car came to my mind. I was thinking that I have a cool car already, why not do some decorations and make it a wedding getaway car? Anyone done it before? Please post pics for some inspiration please.

Talk to your lucky woman first - there was no way my dress would have made it through the door/side sill without being ruined!

I'll let you know in july....

Mine will actually be parked next to the gazebo we are getting married under. Then after the wedding I'm driving away in it.

My wife said the same last year when I suggested we use the Viper in our wedding.... We ended up renting a party bus for us and all who were in the wedding. I am glad we did that.

There have been a couple of VOI weddings with lots of Vipers.... James Retych here comes to mind in Las Vegas.... their Viper parade even had an official pace car

True story:

A couple rented a Viper for the wedding day and stuffed the bride's dress in the passenger seat.
Leaving the reception , the new groom overflowed the gas tank, and the fuel ran down the seams of the fender and hot sill, catching the rented Viper on fire.

The bride escaped with a scorched dress, and the car was badly burned.

Congratulations, best wishes and be careful.

You know the viper is just a car... Make it about your bride's dress and the beauty of the venue if you want attention... She's been thinking of her wedding for a long time. If she says she wants a viper to pick you guys up after the vows... Well, it's on! Viper all the way!! Dresses and vipers don't mix well though, as noted.

I'd advise against it. Listen to your girl. She'll tell you what she thinks and wants...(hahahaha, no doubt about it..)

yeah tell me about it lol. she always hated that i was into cars anyway.

That's just dumb. Would she have preferred that you were into other women instead? Guys are going to do something with their time, and women would be better off if they accepted most things, as there are clearly worse alternatives.

I let my Nephew use my Vert as a drive away car for his wedding. They used it for pictures and drove all over La Jolla in it.

Everybody got quite a kick out of it, and I was kinda proud.

Big smiles on everybody's face.

Exactly my thought. Women would be lucky to have guys who into cars. Everyone gotta have some types of hobbies and luckily if it's not women, gambling, alcohol, or drugs...

Why stress over where to leave the Viper or if someone is going to do something to it during the ceremony? It will work into your subconscious. It is only one day and night. It is really all about the ceremony for both of you and the entire day for her.

The fact she knows you are really into cars, but willing to make the day all about her, will win you big points on wedding night and from there on. If you can stay awake that is. My wedding, I could barely make it to midnight and I was wiped out. My wife to. :rolaugh:

There is plenty of time to take pictures of the two of you and the Viper down the road.

Me, I went for the big, big horsepower at our wedding. Team of six horses and an 1800s western stage coach took us from the wedding. Very memorable! :headbang:

Just food for thought and the way I did it. But that is just me. Been married for almost 7 years and have never even had a major arguement. I must have done something right, though that there has been no make up sex, because no arguements! Maybe I should have put the Viper in the wedding party after all. :dunno:

The wedding was at NTX Automotive Museum in Richardson. This was all 100% the Wifes idea...

My fiance and I actually just took our engagement pictures with my Viper. The car will be at the hotel during the reception and maybe used for more pictures but as far as the wedding (in Catholic Cathedral) and "get away" we will be in a limo. As most have mentioned their wife's concern with the dress fitting in the car.

Fatherford thanks for the Grooms cake idea :)

Awesome wedding with an obvious awesome wife! Congrats :2tu:

I've always wanted a beach wedding, so no "dress issues" fitting in the car.

"I dunno honey, will this Baywatch bikini fit in the car"?:rolaugh:

I just gotta hurry up and find a wife while I'm still GA-VCA President, so I can call it an official GA-VCA event and use treasury money to pay for everything :D
