Ok so i think it about time to buy a short throw shifter. I like both the Hurst and the MGW but what do you guys and gals use. And whats better between the two?

I can only tell you my experience with the Hurst. I had it installed a few months ago. At first, it was very "notchy." After several hundred miles of use, the notchiness has totally gone away and it shifts smooth and precise. The throw is MUCH shorter than stock, although that's a given.

That being said, I've heard so many good things about the MGW shifter, I'm sure I'd be just as happy with using that one.

I have always used & recommended B&M Shifters on my personal Vipers and for my clients Vipers. I was in the middle of installing my new =BBG VIPER TWIN= in a clients car and remembered what MJ told me "The MGW is the Best" so I called Woodhouse Motorsports and had one Next Day Aired in for this build.

MJ was correct, the MGW shifter performs better than my previous choice. My impression is that the MGW is a very refined, positive shifting billet unit ( Built to the Hilt! ) and along with it's shortened shift knob this package is superb.

Here is a few photos of the performance upgrade.

I love my mgw with short gripper knob and poly motor/tranny mounts all from MJ. Only neg for me is since the install of mounts I have a nagging rattle at my left ac vent left of steering wheel. I have learned to live with it for now. Have never missed a shift under heavy load since the install.
