I just bought a set of lows and fogs for my Silverado...while I can't comment on the fit for your Gen II, I'll be able to tell you about the quality and the color (I ordered 6000K)

Tony, specifically did you use the fog kit application on a Gen II?

I am well aware of DDM and their rep/customer service along with the quality of their HID line.

The huge hang up I have is will the HID bulb fit in the Gen II fog location without being too long (hitting the glass lense).

Thanks for the responses guys. :2tu:

Just converted my 97 GTS fogs to hid 2 weekends ago. I bought 5000k from ebay with slim ballasts. I converted my headlights 2 months ago. I have had no problems with hids from ebay as long as you go to a seller with good feedback. I bought from the same seller I used for my hid conversion on my daily drive. I have been using those hids daily for two years.

When I installed my hid fog bulbs they do hit the glass but the socket the bulb slides into is deep enough to allows the metal holding clip to be fastened. It was not a problem and makes a world of difference. It is completely worth it in my opinion

I have ordered the 4500 and 5000K DDM tuning for all the cars that don't have HID's. THe 4500 definitely has more light, and the 50watt is brighter, but hotter. Didn't melt my housing either, but it was glass. I'm not sure about the Viper. I'd keep the 35watt ones, which are bright enough...

Even if your H3 bulbs are too long, you can stick a screwdriver into the housing and bend the metal plate that the bulbs hit. It's basically a half circle that covers the upper portion of the bulb, but it's easily bent out of the way. Anyone driving in front of you is going to hate your guts though :D

Update: HID Fogs installed and what a difference they make. Added bright light on the peripherals from the front of the car.

I still have the smoke overlays and will be leaving them on due some cracks on the glass fog lenses.

I highly recommend DDM! Fast shipping, quality lights, and a slim balast.

Thanks for the info from the guys that responded above :2tu:
