Driving on the Autobahn at 100kph (62mph) I was passing a 1996 Ford Fiesta in the rain, on Saturday night. Everything was great...until the driver of the Fiesta fell asleep and veered into the Viper and sent me sliding/spinning into the center guardrail. I'm sure it will be a total loss. Every panel was destroyed, the hood was cracked down the middle. The exterior simply disintegrated upon impact. I couldn't see what was happening after I started to spin, but I must have hit the guardrail with every 1/4 panel, the front and rear bumpers too. I tried turning the flashers on immediately when I finished spinning and quickly realized there were no lights left to flash. So I ran to the shoulder of the road and tried waving at cars to slow down, because there were no street lights. One car dodged the Viper, but a Peugeot ran right into the Viper, fortunately they slammed brakes about 50 feet before the car so they weren't hurt.

Thankfully, no one was hurt...c'est la vie.:(

WOW :omg: Glad your OK, that must have really scary :( I spun out on a Motorway, ended up going backwards and sideways in my Cobra at about 120kph in the rain, I was waiting for the impact of the barriers but some how I stopped the car backwards in the hard shoulder, the car and me were fine! :omg:

I hope the other driver was insured, I know JonB of Parts-rack has been helpful in the past in getting correct insurance valuations for members cars, Please keep us informed on how you get on. :2tu:

Thank God Nobody was Hurt... Hopefully you get at least enough to replace the car or it's true value or more.

That *****, glad you're ok though. Did the other driver admit guilt? Hopefully you get a Gen IV out of the accident.

I'm glad you're OK. Sorry about the car.
I hope the Fiesta had insurance, he's going to need it.

Glad you're okay, sorry about this car, I'm sure you'll find another interesting Viper to replace her.

Regards,
Aaron

The guy ADMITTED that he fell asleep. :omg: He must have been in shock to tell that to the polizei. I went with the appraiser to survey the damage...see pics.

The adjuster said that it is a total loss.

So, for all you VCA members here in Europe, if you're interested in a Gen III salvage let me know.

YEP! We had APO-Mail ready to go........... glad U are OK.......

Unfortunately, 'sliding and spinning' are a favourite activity of Run Flats. They are great in a dry, straight line. But try to avoid something quickly? No-Deal

Bless you my son, Go, and spin no more....

No traction and a Fiesta to the rear 1/4 = one bad night...

ouch, glad your OK

having lossed my 06 SRT earlier in the year, i know you must be feeling gutted :(
i had x3 offers from my insurance company and a bit of aggro to get a figure i was finally happy with

that looks like a very expensive repair, deemed un-economical for the insurance, hope you get sorted
with another viper quickly

I am happy you got out of the accident OK. We didn't even have a chance to get together yet. Viper GTS knows what you are feeling. Thankfully I don't and I sincerely hope I never do.
But, YOU are OK. That's the real important part.

The cost of a Viper Owner is significantly higher than the cost of a Viper....I'm glad it was only the cheaper of the two objects was damaged and the other not.

Question is....what's next?

Now the worst part is that some idiot will purchase the total wreck for the engine and put the Viper engine in a 1996 ford Fiesta. :omg:

Hi,

Fatboy from the UK forums has directed me here, I'm looking for an engine and box for my project so would be interested in yours. What price would you be looking at for a complete drop out with ecu, loom, everything I need to get it to run?
