If you've done HID Fog lights, your help is needed

have hid fogs with no problems, they run cooler that stock bulbs so i think the information you received is incorrect

I smoked my lenses which should take care of any possible browning.

HID's are known to warp plastic lenses, they rarely turn them brown. I have 8000k HID's in my fogs and lows with no issues for the past year.
HID's definitely run hotter than standard gas filled or halogen bulbs. The color comes from a higher temp.

for those of you that said that you haven't had problems, my next question is, is your viper a trailer queen or a daily driver? bc I'm getting the impression that HID are hotter than halogens. If this the case and due to my gts being a dd, I'm just wondering if there will be a warping problem.

hmmm i guess my information was wrong, i was told they run cooler, either way my car is not a trailer queen or a dd but i have had no problems, if its that big of a concern i would suggest not doing them or just find out and be prepare to replace the lens if they do brown. Its a small risk to take for much much much better lighting over stock. And a big

Mine is stuck in a garage that has a 3 foot snow drift up against the doorwell thankfully my curiousity wouldn't let me rest till I knew everything I felt i could know short of going to the factory and watch how they are made. I found they actually run warmer for about 45-60 sec. then they run cooler than the halogens. the issue i was worried about was fog lights melting, but thankfully i bought the proper bulbs that won't be close too the plastic.
I'm just the kind of guy who wants to know all there is to know before i put it in my car.

What brand(s) are you guys using for your HID's, there are so many choices and most appear to be "el-cheapo's". Maybe a link if you have one?

Xentec 6000k fog lights here for 6 months and 6k miles with no problems in an 06 coupe Go with Xentec brand off ebay they seem to have the least amount of problems.

I used a kit from a website called Vleds.com, the kit looked great from the box. i put them in an they looked great! i haven't driven much since i put them in, but since i'm driving from wilson nc carolina to boca raton florida tomorrow i'll get a chance to see how they do long distance. they give you all the info from sylvania site (actually a link to the sylvania site). I'm pleased so far.

Those HID headlights look great. I bought my GTS with HID fog lights and they are on any time I'm out at night. They just look too cool to be left off.
Anybody know which HID kit like the above ones that I should use? My Snake is '01 GTS, but I noticed that with a burned out low beam/running light (Canadian car), I had to replace it with the '00 year bulb which was different than what was called for on the '01. My car was built in Jan '01 and I think they still had some parts left over from the '00.
