How do I go about finding the owner of a particular Viper? The only information I have is the cars VIN number.

Gotta give us more info than that. GTS, RT-10 or SRT? Last 3 or 5 of the VIN?

My car came to me from MI. :eater:

Please ensure that all ticking packages are sent to red owners only please! :D

As for the VIN, you could contact the admins on this site that way all Info is private. They would at least be able to know if the car is registered here or not. Do be aware though, chances are they cannot give you any info due to today's privacy laws. They may still be able to assist you though in one way or another.

I guess the other question is, what is the gift and where did you find the vin? ;)

Guys, I doubt this is a scam since ViperLSS worked at CAAP building our Snakes by my recollection. That said, his request may/may not be "doable" due to the privacy laws mentioned above.

ViperLSS, you might put up a little more background info, and maybe someone can assist privately.

Good luck and Merry Christmas!!!

If the administrators have the VIN information they could contact the owner and forward the information, then all is still private.

Only for current members/owners. Even though some of us have sold our Vipers we might know who the current owner is to pass along anything special.

Tom - You have a PM, and we should be able to help you out. Hope you are keeping busy and are as excited about 2012 as we are!

I replied to your PM. I was working at Warren truck building Ram 1500 and Dakota trucks. Starting January 3, 2011 I will be at Sterling Heights Assembly training to go on the second shift.

Let's see..."Am I excited about the 2012"? You owners have no idea how much I want to get back to building these cars. Being on the second shift just makes it worse. Going from building 10 Vipers a day to building 450+ trucks a day is like winning the lottery and then loosing it all at the casino in one hand of poker.

AZTVR - From the first day I was building the Viper and even to this day while I build Ram 1500's I build everyone with the mind set as if this Viper/1500 was going to be parked in my drive after it is finished. So no, I don't think I "missed the torque on something important". Thanks for asking though.

I built the Viper from February 24, 1997 until July 16, 2010. At the time the plant closed there was less than 75 hourly people building the Viper.

I've rambled on haven't I? It's hard not to talk or brag about building these cars.

BTW I was in the Road & Track issue with the Viper article. Well at least my Tattoo was.

Hopefully, you took my joke as a good natured jest. That was the intent, anyway. Unfortunately, since we don't know each other, it was out of line. I apologize for that.

I am currently (today) replacing the clutch in my '02 Viper, so thoughts of forgetting to torque something are number one on my mind ! :omg:

We *LOVE* having you here. I'm sure building the Viper for so many years, there were some cool happenings in that plant. You can "ramble on" as much as you want...we're all ears.

That's super cool. What exactly did you do at the Viper plant. Were you trained to do multiple tasks, or did you concentrate on one specific area? I think what I'm getting at is...........were Vipers built differently with regard to assembly? My car is a 2000 Steel Grey GTS ACR, did you work on it? Good luck with your new job, and thanks for caring.

The Dodge Viper was built very different than any other Chrysler product. At a high volume plant the line doesn't stop. Expect for break times. At Viper the line would index the cars to the next station and stay there for 30 (1997-2006)to 45 (2008-2010) minutes. All the while it was being assembled by us.
I spent my entire time at Viper in the chassis department. For the 2003 to 2010 MY Vipers I can build it from the bare frame to a hot running chassis. Or go cart as I call them. What that means is I knew all the operations involved in making the car look like this..
