Am I the only one that likes their Viper just the way Ma' Mopar made it? I see many people here modifying their Vipers, and several that I looked at before buying my latest Viper were "personalized" beyond good taste. I posted earlier that quite a few were beat up, but a few were "spray can modified". These cars deserve better than a Saturday with a spray paint can.

OK, I guess I might take some heat for this post, but does anyone else like to leave the car alone?

Me. Nothing better than an exotic untouched in the long run. May be except exhaust (sound!) ...

You are not alone. My '01 viper is all stock and I plan on keeping her that way. Heck, it took me 5 years of ownership (with my '01) before I decided a license place frame was acceptable. The only thing I did to my '08 (besides a plate frame) was add sill protectors. As mentioned above an all stock exotic is not a bad thing.

Personally i am happy just the way mine are, although i understand everyone likes what they like and more power to them. Some buy them just because they like the looks and in those cases they are fine as they came, but other's really want them to race and that's their perogitive too. I don't think anyone should be telling anyone else what to do with their Viper. It's just whatever you like. Some improve and some ruin.In the end it is their's to do whatever they want with.:drive:

In another thread I asked the same question. I am guilty of modifying myself even though I always kept/restored my older muscle cars to stock only.

All the mods I am hoping to do are reversable. I am painting the dash, but keeping the original; putting a stripe on, but making it vinyl as to be able to take it off; changing the emblems to match the stripe, but buying stock emblems to have.

There is one mod I will do that will be permanent and that is to put "real" roll bars on my 03 convertible. But like many said, to each his own... :drive:

I may be putting softer stock GTS shocks and springs on mine, but it's a second gen. ACR and I don't plan to race it. If you've ever ridden in one of these ACR's on the streets you know just how rough the ride is. The car is now 9 years old. It was at or near the top of the heap performance-wise at the time it was manufactured. It more than fills my performance needs and has a classic look that can't be beat. I'm probably one of the few out there that likes the sound of the stock exhaust. I realize the car has its flaws and limitations, but they really don't bother me that much. As far as modifying goes, to each his own. After four years of ownership, I just don't have the desire to make any big changes.:2tu:

More performance mods the better....IMHOP. As far as body...if it doesn't help Aero....leave it be. I wouldn't mind doing better seats and some Alcantara!

I did replace the single muffler with twin canister Magnaflows . Have 4.10 gears ,going to replace the door speakers with Polk Audio's and the low beams with HID lights. Also did the big brake upgrade with 03 srT 14" on all corners. I don't think my light mods hurt the value of the car.

A good set of wheels can make any car look better. Not really many stock wheels look good. Plus it is nice to go to a car show and for your car to be a little different than everyone else's.

My DDs are stock. My toys are very modified. But I can appreciate your desire to keep her stock/pure.

It is just a car when it is all said and done. Bought it to use it, not as an investment. People want to give their ride an edge that will "make it their own" which is totally understandable. I see more than a plenty vipers that are bone stock, nothing wrong with that either. To each his own, but I am not ******** about it either way.

As for appearance inside and out - Stock is the way I like it.

Personally, I don't like the stock gearing or the stock exhaust sound(along with a couple other little things), so I did something about it.:D

If you are going to the trouble use something other than Polk... Try Hertz... (do an Internet search) they are a much higher end speaker for a similar price. Good luck.

Nope, I love them just the way they are, only thing I plan on changing is the dash in my 94 to flat black (the guy that did the fuzzy paint should be shot lol). Oh and I think the Mach 7 top should have been standard too, other then that, she is "poiiifect".

I can understand your logic...I just don't agree with it.

While the Viper is a wild car, there are still lots of laws/regulations the SRT team has to develop a car within. Plus, the car has to work in a variety of climates and road conditions. On top of those "official" constraints, things like cost and value on items or parts factors in. Where Dodge needed to cut corners/quality/weight on items to stay at a price point, I don't have to!

George , I barely listen to the radio in the Viper ;)just wanted something better than the OEM Chrysler speakers made in Japan. I've listened to many car audio speakers and I liked the tone of the Polk Audio DB651 the best. There's always a better product but I wanted to stay within a reasonable
budget. I have the THX theater system in my Navigator if I wanted to listen quality music plugging in from Ipod.

For all those with 03-06 with either the 5 spoke, 10 spoke, H spoke, wheels you dont know what you are missing by going to a lighter wheel and tire package, especially if you are running the original runflats.

...and the best part about that rear wing is it attaches to the front of his Ram for use in the winter months.

That plate has to mean he is mentally handicapped. That is awful.
