I need to get my manifold and valve covers powdercoated as they are turning pink on me. Whats some of the prices you guys have paid to have this done? I did a search, but the only thread that really helped was from 05', so I'm looking for more current prices. I'd be going with red again. TIA!

I got mine painted, it was cheap but I'll probably get them powdercoated since the quality is not as good as I thought it would've have been. I believe R&J quoted me 600 for intake and valve covers if I took them completely apart and shipped them to them...

Pink manifolditus is due to having you hood left open and too many girls wearing orange short shorts sitting on your plenum!

Make sure they know your valve covers are made of magnesium. There was someone on here that went to have them powdercoated and the prep work they did to remove old powder coat/paint melted the valve covers :omg: They must have thought they were aluminum and I guess magnesium is prepped different. Intake is aluminum though. May wanna search as I remember seeing the melted pics posted.

$500 is a good price for intake and VCs but as mentioned, you need to go to someone who's done Viper VCs before. Mine were done in Chicago, if you can find a local shop, great....if you're going to ship them anyway, and want a referral, gimme a call.

Nice job on the intake manifold! Do they polish and then clear coat over the ribs, to help keep them from tarnishing?

Nope, just powdercoat.

I used a block and emery paper to shine ip the ribs on top......didn't clearcoat over it and am amazed that they don't tarnish much with time. Every other year I give them a light touch with emery paper and they stay nice.
