Needs clear fog light lenses. Kinda stupid to ruin the fog lights IMO. I think there is enough silver on the car already.

Wouldn't make a lot of sense since there are no fog lights back there. You think this is why the car hasn't sold? :omg:

I'd suggest losing those covers and add fake 50 cal machine gun tips. Your car would appeal to a whole other audience.

Good luck on the sale !

(Perhaps you will have some luck in January when there are a bunch of car guys in town on vacation. I would advertise the heck out of it then.)

this car should be selling for no less than 48K. even in these bad times.

LOL a little biased? ;)

I don't think it is but, in my opinion, I would restore the fogs. The car just looks, well, a little weird in the front with the lens covers painted over.

I also agree and am shocked that you haven't put this car up in autotrader, cars.com, ebay, and craigslist. Even though the Viperclub has many members, there are probably close to 4-5 times the Viper owners that don't even know about this site. There are also thousands and thousands of people that know nothing about this site as well. Another thing you can do is, get the car on other sites! I actually found my 99 GTS on the Corvette forum!!! There are like 150,000 members there. Post it up on ls1.com, ls2.com, ls1tech.com, and the viperalley as well. If you combine the members of these sites, you are talking about over 200K people. Of course not all of them will look at it, but, the people that do will tell other people and so on. Plus, a Viper for sale on those sites will demand a lot of attention. The black GTS that I bought off the CF had pages and pages of posts of people drooling over the car. Get it out to the car forums and selling sites and I'll bet you have it sold for your asking price (or damn close to it) in under 3 weeks. I'll bet you a 6-pack!!! ;)

I think you can sell this car easy for your asking price. But you need to get it out there! Good luck!

I sent an email inquiry last week but never received a reply.
I have had a couple/few communications snafus - and I just looked and yours is the e-mail that bounced back. I sent you a pm with my contact info so maybe we can try again. First time it kicked back with this message!

Reason: 5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias:

I laughed thinking about my recent e-mail from Lagos, Nigeria and sent a second reply.

Good news is I sold my second set of wheels and tires and squeezed some cash out of my car there, but the market is dead and I screwed around not being aggressive and now I am up against the holidays. After not working for 5 months my savings is starting to scare me a bit and I need to get this car gone so I lowered my price to $30,000

Well, after 6.5 years of ownership, 6 months for sale, one buyer who backed out, then working with another very nice but persnickity buyer for 10 weeks (including an Eddie Martin inspection) my car is finally sold. Did the paper work today with transport scheduled for Monday. Welcome RSMitchell10 back into the Viper fold with his third Viper!

Thank you to all you Board members (and the VCA for allowing me to hang out with "outlaw" status) for the coversation over the last 7 years.

Thanks to Michael for all his assistance in helping me get back into the Viper addiction. I really love the car and can't wait to get it to San Antonio and put my own spin on the joy of ownership. Looking forward to hitting the shows again Chris!

WOW!!! I personally feel that you got one heck of a deal. It makes me sick to see such nice Vipers being sold sooooo cheap. It is just hurting us owners by devalueing our cars.I am sure you are going to enjoy your new Viper......:2tu: :drive:

Not sure the owners are devaluing their cars so much as it is supply and demand. During my search, on most days, there were over 400 Vipers for sale on Autotrader...all Gens, modded, stock, etc. And many had been there for quite some time. So, if an owner needs to wants to sell bad enough, like anything else, it has to be priced competitively. As much as we love Vipers the pool of people who want or can manage a purchase just isn't deep right now. And, having done a lot of modding on my past cars, there's just not going to be a decent return on those things.

I did get a good deal...a fair deal I think. And I'm looking forward to enjoying this for years to come.

The only sting I am going to feel from this deal is missing out on the 100 extra horsepower RSM is going to get when he does heads and a cam on the car to make it his own! :drive:
