I'm thrilled with how well the price of my Vipers have held up compared to Corvettes, Ferraris and other sportscars of similar ages.

Agreed ,the 12 cyl Ferrari Maranello 550 is relatively rare , yet my friend would be lucky to get much more than 100K for it if he decided to sell it.15K tuneups , 8K timing belt change or brake jobs :crazy2:

The Europa was not a great car and certainly doesn't compare to a Viper but it sure is unique at 1,400 lbs. My cousin used his as a daily driver on Long Island for 6 years and it always neede something.

How cool is this car...

v10enomus , The only part I didn't dig on the Europa was the rear, also the body was pretty thin fiberglass.Saw one involved in a collison and that made my choice to stick with the Chally ;).My neighbour had two of them and when the Lotus Elise came out he sold them both to hop in one.he got so many tickets with the Elise , he was barred from driving it for a while ,so it's just sits in his garage :lmao:Local dude has a Europa with a cChevy 4.3 V-6 shoehorned in it.I'm not knocking the car since I driven one and it's fun ,but so is my friend's Lotus Super7 I can drive when I want! I'd prefer a Lotus Elan to the Europa any day.

Your not lying...I bought my C5 new in early 04 for 50K...By mid 2006 it was only worth around 28K...Said screw it and bought a 99Rt10 Viper for 39K...wrecked it a year later and the insurance gave me 43K for the totaled loss...

My 03 srt sticker says 84K...KBB says its worth 45K..6 months ago I had an offer of 40K but opted to keep it and add mods verses sell and get a 2008 viper..8 years later and still worth atleaste half it's value is much better than most cars..

I absolutely cringe when I go to ebay and see clean titled last year F360's for 70K or clean titled 2004 Gallardos for 80K when I know they sold for 200K new....

I relate the Viper to other collectable cars. For instance:
When early Fords started to become collectable is was the 32, 34, 36, 38, and 40 everyone wanted. The odd numbered years were left on the side, that is, until all the even years were bought up, then they begin to rise in price too. The same thing happened with the early Camaros. The 67-69's were the one to have even though the 70' and up were better cars, but eventually the second Gen. cars came into their own. It also happened with the 55-57 Chevys. In every case, later model cars were superior to their predecessor, but they were less desirable. The same is true here. Each generation of Viper is better than the last, but it will be the gen. II's that are initally the most desirable, and the main reason is style. When John Q. public thinks of Viper, it's the gen. II's they see in their head.

As someone who knows Ferrari cars fairly well; modern day Ferrari cars have not and will continue to not hold their value.

Over built and too expensive to maintain will be the biggest factors.

You will see loads of parked Ferrari cars in the coming years being parted out as they will be worth more sold in pieces than as a whole.

Go GEN 2 Viper prices!!! UP! UP! UP!

Gen II still had the awesome hood Gen III did not. I think the gen I and II cars will hold their values better because of this.

The GTS loses some luster when you get a new toy, I know the feeling.

Hey guys. This is my car, or it was. The car is perfect, clean car fax I am the second owner of the car. Say what you want about the mods on the car. All of them can be removed or reversed, stock parts are included in the sale. The car has been driven and is not a garage queen. I did not have to sell because of any financial problems.
I priced the car to sell, People asking $40k + for these cars are going to be sitting on them for a long time in this economy! Anyway I have a good deal on a 2006 SRT10 with aero kit so I'm jumping on it. Other wise I would not have sold it. Great car for me for the past 5 years problem free. Drove it to VOI 11 and back 1700 miles in six days not an issue. Say what you want that car was badass! Track one day street the next gota love it. Hope the new owner takes care of it in TX.
Hey, I see the car is no longer listed, did you get the sale you wanted? If you sold it, someone out there got a really great deal :2tu:
Thought your car looked fab IMO :headbang:

Good luck with your new toy :headbang:

I would have to agree with Big Deep to a point. We do seem to have finally seen a slowdown in the price drops on the Gen IIs and Gen Is. The issue could be partly due to the fact that the economy is improving , as well as the comment one other gentleman proposed -- there are getting to be fewer and fewer quality Vipers out there. I do politely disagree with the gentleman that said he firmly doubted that Vipers would reach the levels of the muscle cars in the past due to the numbers built. With the fact that there were abysmally low numbers of Snakes constructed over the years not sure this makes alot of sense. One highly regarded professional, Drew Alcazar ( owner of Russo and Steele ) believes in the fairly near future the Viper will be the next muscle car to live in the 100k range.

At present we have seen the Gen IIIs, IIs, and Is all level off and especially the IIs and IIIs have seen a minor uptick. This , of course , has helped on some trade ins, but more importantly there has been a bit of relief in the Banking Industry. Trying to get a loan on an older Viper has been a big hurdle to overcome for many, but there does seem to be a loosening up of late.

Hopefully with the discontinuation of the Viper for close to two years, we will see a stable market and many anticipate a gradual upswing for clean machines.

Respectfully Submitted,
Bill Pemberton

Good info Bill and I agree on the appreciation in value. Limited production and demand should confirm rising prices! Good news if you already have a Viper. Just wish I could afford one for the wife right now. She wants white with pink stripes!!!! :omg: Thats the condition for getting a sister for mine. Of coursed it will be vinyl stripes! :2tu:

Bought my 05 SRT in October of this year when I felt prices were getting to the bottom. Checked autotrade and ebay yesterday and I think I could sell it for a profit now. Not much of one, but still more than I paid for it. KBB says I am up a few thousand as well.
