Hi Guys,

Seem to have found some green color oil patches on my SRT GEN III on top of the Platic of the air filter cover and few other aerias.

The engine bay seems quite greasy too. Green tint?

Any clues please,

Thanks,

Eduardo.

If he has "green coolant" in a Gen III...it's not factory fill.

Some oils are green...Castrol's German product is one.

My SRT10 2005 is a UK one and as got the Green fluid.

What oils would be green? Defenetly not the brake fluid or engine oil as they are gold color.

Don't think the power steering fluid is green.

Thanks,

Eduardo.

Sorry about posting in two threads.

I'll bet that you have been re-filled with an after market long-life product such as the newer Prestone.

When tracking the leak, be sure that the vent on top of the theromstat housing is appropriately tightened.

I'm guessing you have ruptured the AC system when installing the oil pan. They use green/yellow fluorescent dye for leaks and if you had it in your system and ruptured the system (ie split a joint) while moving the pipework a sudden depressurisation and lightness of the oil would probably cover everything in the engine bay.

Do you have a UV light. try that and see of it lights up like a xmas tree. or does your AC work?

PS adding to the green oil count. Didn't Kendal oil used to be green?

In addition to what ViperDave added above, please note that the "green" coolant that I have used also "lights up like a xmas tree" when illuminated by a UV light source...including, but not limited to, Mopar 3 Year Coolant Formula and the "old" green Prestone (inorganic acid technology) as well as the current green formulation.
