Well one year ago today I was driving home my dream car. What a day it was, it was such an incredible feeling, it really didnt even feel real it was more like a dream or a video game. I remember I didn' sleep at all after I got it, I kept going out to the gargage and admiring its beuaty and awsomeness, heck I still do. That car is irreplacable just for that reason, it is my first viper. When I do get my next viper it will probley be awsome all over again, but I dont think on this level as the first. Oh well just thought I share :2tu:

First viper was 99 rt10. traded my 04 vette for it. the owner had the viper in his garage parked right next to his f355. the vette looked so insignificant next to them and i couldnt belieave it when i pulled it outta his garage. but i quickly belieaved it two minutes later when at my first stop light i did a 360 into the intersection..torque

After Skip Thomas ( founder of Viper Days ) let me run my Cobra Mustang on the second day of a Viper Days event at Road America, I was hooked and knew I needed a bigger Snake !! Got my 1998 and sat in the garage for close to 5 hours , before my wife came out and drug me back to bed. Other nights I would still find myself out there and less than 3 weeks after getting it I was in Cresson Texas , running the Viper Days Finals in the same car. Won the event, and the next year won a National Championship in the redhead, and she was my first approved mistress. Through the years I had 5 other Vipers, loved them all , but had to admit they never elicted the unbelievable passion the first one brought, that is...........................................until now!! My wife has already caught me a couple of times just sitting in our 2008 Venom Red ACR and the feeling is every bit as strong as my first red beauty. This time , she is a bit more mature, more exciting, more alluring, and simply takes my breath away in the garage or at the track. Yes , the first can be extra special, but another V10 can come along with even more **** moves and allure ----- the fire burns even hotter this time around.:2tu:

Will be 3 years as of April 8th. I took the day off from work on the day the car was being delivered. I definitely wanted to make sure I had the WHOLE day to drive it once I got it the first day, it was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I remember when Gary Almond opened up the trailer for the first time and I saw the back end of the car and then he told me to get into the drivers seat and get ready to back it off the trailer. Words couldn't describe the excitement and feeling I had. I haven't driven my car since December 2010, and I'm already getting excited anticipating this weekend, since I might finally be able to take it out of the garage with all the salt and sand mostly gone from the roads for the first time this year. Owning a Viper is an experience like none other...

I will never sell my car. :2tu:

I have mine 1 year march 26. First car in a row of 14 which I kept longer as a year....and I am keeping it some bits longer, doing exhausts on the moment and lots of other stuff.

The power of my 92 is still superb, the only reason i am not buying something else is that i just havent found anything better within the budget!

I picked mine up in Nov of 2008. I flew up to NY from DE. Picked it up and drove it home in the rain 6 hours. :(

Not that fun, some old guy almost merged right into me. There was NO ONE else on the road, NO REASON to merge at all. I almost pooped my pants but decided not to cause a mess in my new ride.

I know what you mean. Drove mine home from Chicago to Tennessee is a pouring rain. A silver car in the rain is not real visible. When you look out the window and look up to see the top of 18 wheeler tires it give you pause. Thank goodness for those headlights that can vaporize a car in front of you. No plans to repear a drive like that in March. But I do love the car and haven't got this many looks since I had a Hemi Cuda back in 1971.

One your ago last month! and I still can't get over that car every time I go out into my shop and see it :D. My wife drove me down to St Louis MO, on my birthday to pick up my new to me, yellow 02 RT /10. That was just a hoot to drive home those three and 1/2 hours back home to my little town of Westville in Northwest IN. I had never been in a car were people would drive by and take pictures our give so many thumbs up, even had a State trooper zoom up beside me......... look over and give me the :2tu: he then speed up until he got to the next turn around and then headed back south on the highway. What a day. Still look forward to driving my car every chance I get as do both of my young sons...:drive:

11 months now I've owned my 2003, and it's still a thrill every time. Just got in from a 50 mile jaunt to nowhere, and with the temp in the low 50s, I was finally able to get on it for the first time in months. Still get that rush every time!

Got mine right at a year ago as well. I had to drive from TN to Indy to get it. A snow storm that was supposed to hit Sat at noon ended up hitting Fri night. My first drive was from Indy, in the snow, with bald rear runflats. If that doesn't get you acquainted with this car, I don't know what will! :)

Great story and i know the feeling. I was checking Craigslist one morning looking for a truck when a 1994 rt/10 popped up . I called and asked about it...he said better come soon because everyone and his brother was on the way to buy it and first come first serve..I ran to the bank figuring if there were more buyers there he may like cash money. I was right because several were telling him they were coming to buy and would write a check as soon as they arrived. I had cash and i was there when he turned down two others who had checks. I had gotten it and i haven't stopped smiling! I held out 21 K in hundreds and although the other's were willing to pay a few bucks more..the cash in hand got it! :drive:

17 years since the first and 7 since. When Gen 3 came out I swore I would never buy one---didn't like it until saw it in person. Now 2 Gen 3s and 2 Gen 4s.

They have all been special. Had the 10 out today. Great fun.:)

One year at the end of March. I found mine posted on-line. Thought it was a b.s. ad because the description was very detailed, said the car was stored in a bubble, etc. Called on it and liked the photos that were sent to me. The seller would not take a certified bank check, due to fear of fraud, and would only accept cash. I was not going to drive 3 hours to lower Michigan from Cleveland with a shoe box full of cash in the back seat. Now what??? The owner brought the car to my house with the understanding if I didn't like it I would just pay for his gas... the car never left.

I just recently traded my sapphire coupe for a GenIV ACR. Love the new car but nothing matches my "first". I have a sneaking suspicion that when my brand new GenV arrives the bar will be raised!!

To the OP, congrats!

As for the thread, very nice. Its great to read peoples first experiences!

For me, it will be four years come April/May. My search started 15 years or so ago. I was 10. Much like many in my generation, the Viper was America's Supercar and to top it all off, it was a Dodge. I carried part time jobs, summer jobs, odds and ends everywhere I could, I avoided buying anything that was not NEEDED. All the funds went into one account. At times it seemed like it would never happen and I did consider other cars at a few points (70 Roadrunner, 70 Satellite) but they never felt right nor did it ever work out.

At the time VOI 9 happened, I was also in Vegas but it was for a trade show. After being around all the Vipers for a few days it really got my attention. After speaking with an owner (I wonder to this day who on here it was....never know who you meet in life! Does anyone remember a kid that looked like me? :D I owe you a thank you for not just saying "Get away from my car you stupid kid!") in a gas station, he mentioned lower used Viper prices. He had my attention. When I got home research started. He was right. A few weeks later I ran into the AZ VCA chapter. That further got my attention.

I found the car in MI, went to look at it, fell in love, it had 1900 miles on it and not a speck of dust. After all was said and done, it ended up being mine with a small loan from my parents as the ACR was a bit more than I had at the time (thanks guys :)). Got it home sat in the car for a week or so while finishing the import process and the first night I had it home I sat in the car till 2am. Everyday I went to the garage. It seemed like a dream. All that was missing was the light mist of fog in the air and maybe the Viper floating a few feet off the ground!! I was (and still am) in love.

I signed up with the VCA before the title was even transfered as I was so excited! I then proceeded to follow the guaidance of the folks on here and I got to know the car better before I did anything stupid. The entire first summer I did not full throttle it as I did not want any issues. Year two was a different story! :drive:

As it was at the start and still is, its an honor to be a part of this group.

Well welcome to the VCA and the Viper Nation then! :)

Let me tell you right now. That feeling you have right now of wanting the snow to go. You can feel it as you read this?

Guess what.

That does not go away! Every winter that feeling returns!:( Then come spring, it is like its your first drive in the car!:)

Welcome!:2tu:
