Engine Weight?

Anyone know how much the V-10 weighs? Thinking about putting one in a 32 Chevy street rod.

Mopar sells a 450hp Viper Crate Motor for just this sort of adventure. They have a manual that gives you all sorts of useful dimensions and weights.

1996 Service manual says "approximately 650 lbs"

According to Viper factories, (and I can't remember if it was Ralph, or Dick that mentioned it), it weighs about 580lbs. (gen IV)

It was more than I could lift last week. 600+ lbs would have been about right. It runs like a dream.

The Gen IV also wasn't around when this thread was posted... let alone Gen III haha!
