Chuck, I have the TPMS in my car. Last year one of my tires went flat and in the process one of the units in that specific tire broke as well. I bought a cheap tire offline as a temporarily replacement; however, I did buy another unit and just haven't had it installed in the tire yet. My question is, there is a constant beeping now, about every 2minutes or so, I'm assuming that's because of the TPMS right? It's sensing a tire without one of the units connected to it? If I just install the unit to that tire, will the beeping stop? :dunno:

Beats me. Maybe somebody will build an aftermarket gizmo that will permanently disable all that crap and you'll never have to worry about it again. Imagine that, paying even more money for something to get rid of something you already paid for. Free country? Not America.

I think Ford was trying to Veyron the Mustang...

Veyron requires 2 keys to hit the bonus round. Ford managed one key, which should keep the valet honest...

I think the Ford should come with a multple choice ignition interlock, with driver questions about weight transfer, tire condition, and brake fluid age, pad life, tire pressures, etc. If you select the wrong anwers, or take too long to reply, it wont start.

The instrument cluster would display: NOT WORTHY

Hopefully Dodge will make a crappy TC system that fails after 2 months and isn't covered under warranty.

So the new 2012 Ford Laguna Seca Boss Mustang comes with a "Track Key" that when you use the track key in the regular ignition (not a sperate key location like the old ZR1 Valet keys), it changes all the parameters in the programming and disables traction control, etc. in the car for track use.

My question is should Dodge be looking at a "Venom Key" which would do the same thing in the Viper and if so, how many of you would drive around everywhere on the street with that Venom Key knowing that if you had an accident or a warranty claim, they could trace it back to exactly which key was in ignition at the time. I assume no warranty when the Venom Key is in the ignition and potentially the damn insurance company even also determining that and potentially causing claims issues.

Open it up for discussion. Personally I would love a Venom type of key if it made the car run the way it should, for a pure track experience. Thoughts? Should we be pushing Ralphie and company for this type of key in the GEN V?

Well, if you look into it, this is a DEALER INSTALLED OPTION...there is NO WAY the manufacturer can make a key like this 'from the factory'

Here are details from R&T

=====================

So what is the TracKey, you ask?

It’s an additional ignition key, distinguished by a special red logo, that activates the control module software that’s installed by the dealer after taking delivery of your car.

When starting the engine, this key adjusts variable cam timing, spark maps, engine braking, fuel control and about 400 other performance parameters to provide a complete race car calibration. Turn the ignition on with the standard key, and the Boss 302 comes to life in “normal” mode. In this setting, ride quality is relatively smooth, and the cabin doesn’t rumble with the vibration of the engine.

---------
SO there you go, something like a "Venom Controller" that is installed after delivery...I'm sure RG can make that happen..but it will not be a 'factory option' because the federal regulations will not allow it

Why have a key when you can just have a switch to turn off the T/C and when you do that it will enable the "track" mode.

I think this is stupid.. Just let the Viper go as fast as it can go. Originally Viper's weren't all high tech, it's a raw sports car made to deliver a lot of power. It doesn't need all these fancy things added on to it. I'm sure the new GEN V will be nice, and I'll prob want it lol, but I'm content with my GEN II GTS :)
