I've searched and searched and all I come up with is the hood switch. I'm going to check that, but before I do, I wanted to ask some questions, because it acts like more than just a random trip.
This is an 06 Coupe that I'm having problems with.
It has now happened to me three times, so I don't think it is a fluke.
Every time it has happened, I have just stopped somewhere and shut the motor off.
The alarm starts going off and I can't get it to stop for 5 minutes or more. Honestly, I don't know what stops it because by the time I get it to stop I'm ready to push the car off a cliff and I'm trying everything all at once.
Pushing the unlock button on the key fob doesn't shut it off, at least not immediately.
I can put the key in the ignition and start the car. (The alarm should disable this ability)
Pushing the panic button just blows the horn continuously and it goes back to the normal alarm sounding when I push panic again.
Additionally, the overhead lights stay on and won't shut off unless I shut them off with the multifunction lamp control. They stay on after the doors, hood and liftgate are shut and the car is locked with the alarm armed.
I don't have a clue what could be causing this???? Could it be bad battery, Body Control Module, or what????
