Driving my 2003 SRT along 5 mile very straight section of highway with wife when a 2011 Jag K series 5 liter supercharged rated at 510 HP races up to my rear bumper. I am in 4th gear doing 70 mph when he pulls up beside me and I punch it. I am at 100mph in 2 seconds and he is far behind. I immediately got off the go pedal as he races by with a goofy OMG look. I really don't think most people understand what kind of HP this car has and underestimate it because it is a "Dodge". John

Some have no clue. Guy at work (knows I have a Viper) tells me I need to take a ride in his Lexus IS350... that I can't image the power.

We were on our spring opening cruise in VA and one of those dbag new Jag owners was tailgating me bad. My car has no cats. I'm sure he was engulfed in a wave of stench as I launched and he made a pathetic attempt to catch up lol. After I slowed down and hopped over to finally let him go he decided to show off his waste of money by hopping 2 lanes over and passing someone on the right. Surprised he didn't wreck.

I had a BMW 335 try me one day coming back from the dyno... I let him know what 427 to the wheels was like!

Are you sure? He only has 1000hp

My car has 500...he's definitely going to lose.

I've been running the numbers. It appears that 1000 horsepower may actually be more than 500 horsepower. However, some horses are much stronger than others, so...viper wins! In Mexico of course.

Remember, the FINAL, revised SAE-net standards that came out in 2006 brought the GEN3 engines "official" horsepower rating to 510 (I think Bill P or Mark J can back me up here), so you and the Jag have the same horsey-pressure, but you have more torque, and are lighter, I believe. Game over for the Jag!

swexlin ,

You be correct on dem numbers.

Sounds like we need a few more of you to show up at Motorsports Park Hastings this weekend ---- no worries about street racing then, and no Dbag Jag owners allowed ( just politely repeating what someone mentioned and so sorry if this appears to be politically incorrect, but secretly pleased that it is )

Whoever thought a Jag was a drag racer??? I almost laughed at this post. An XK is a good looking Grand Tourer. Quiet, refined and makes great noises when you do jump on it. Are you sure the Jag was racing you and not goading? Supercharged Jags are geared for great accerleration at those speeds. Go race a Vette or a modified Mustang.
