G'day,

As some of you may have noticed, there was a very similar post to this one in the GTS & RT/10 sub-forum. Basically, in the next 3-5 years I am looking to buy a Viper. Well 2 Actually. One of the early model GTS's & one of the SRT Coupe's. Thing is though, I have to say, the later Vipers do look good. I like the SRT10, but not after a convertible, its just not me. However, if I was handed te keys to one, I wouldnt argue...... The Coupe front, well looks the same. But the back..... After all of these years of loving vipers, I simply cant warm to it. I wish I could. Without being harsh or critical, I think when they did the styling on the rear of the Coupe, using the same tailights IMHO wasnt the best styling inspiration. It looks like the "wings" that continue on from the guards is an afterthought.

However, when I first saw the GTSR concept for the new shape. Whooooaaaa mumma!I fell in love. It always suprised me why they didnt use THAT styling for the GTS, & only kept it for the concept & competition coupe. Sure it looks longer but I love it. I mean I LOVE IT. So the next question is. Did they ever produce a road-going version of te GTSR with that tail? Or surely there is a few people out there who thought the same as me, didnt like the GTS backside, but loved the GTSRC & Comp Coupe, & decided to do something about it. Now I am completely ware that the CC was a dedicated track-only car along with the ACRX, but hopefully someone wanted that backside on their viper. Does any one know of on or two that have had this conversion?

I guess that it might just be easier to buy a coupe & perform a transormation, as I am guessing there are no road going versions of the GTSRC or if there are, it will cost and arm & a leg. & I need them to drive manual....

What would be the best way to go here both from a costing & efficency point of view? A SRTC? An ACR? & do a conversion? Because to be honest. I wouldnt have one if I cant have those long flowing lines & that taillight setup! It is awsome!

I will point out again, I am not in the immediate market, but will be in the next 3-5 years. Hopefull sooner. I should also say that I am in Australia, & would look to buy over here, then ship it back to oz & have it converted to RHD. AFAIK, it hasnt been done yet. The latest model I've seen here, or convereted to RHD is a 02 model. Not the "current" shape. If you could call it that since it has stopped production *sniff*. I seriously was in tears when I saw that on the ultimate factories episode.

Cheers for your input. Its always great to learn stuff.

Welcome aboard!

Many of your points are shared with others and in fact, there is an aftermarket body kit that allows conversion to something very similar to a comp coupe.

It can be found here: http://www.trunktop.citymaker.com
