Greetings!

The Viper Club of America, Washington Region, is happy to invite you to attend our three auto-cross events this year. Because this is not a VOI year, we are able to host a Zone Rendezvous instead, and because the Western Zone is so large, we have further divided into North and South events.

The Northwest Zone Rendezvous is being hosted by the Washington club, and is being held on two separate dates: 7/15-17 with the Oregon club, and August 12-14 with the Western Canada club. These two events will be very similar, with the Saturday autocross being the same. Besides being a great opportunity to meet some Viper enthusiasts from around the Northwest, it is also an opportunity to qualify to represent the Viper Club in an auto-cross challenge with Dodge this Fall. The top competitor will be selected from the combined events, and earn the opportunity to represent the Oregon, Washington, and Western Canada clubs. The Southwest Zone Rendezvous held in Southern California is also sending one representative, making for two from the Western Zone. Our third auto-cross, in September, is simply a WAVCA event, and not part of this challenge qualifier.

I realize this is short notice indeed, and despite the dates of the auto-cross events being locked in some time ago, we've had our work cut out for us in putting together this event. In fact, we're still dotting a few i's and crossing a few t's, but we're finally to the point where we've got a full event to put on.

So, please, take a look at the attached agenda, and make an effort to come out and meet a broad spectrum of Viper enthusiasts. You can call our host Hotel, the Best Western Tacoma Dome (253) 272-7737 for really outstanding rates, just by mentioning that you are with the Viper Club. But hurry - the deal is only on through Monday, 7/11. After that, the rates jump back up to normal summer rates.

We've planned a Viper Club hosted reception Friday evening, auto-cross all day Saturday, and visits to Griot's Garage Corporate Headquarters for a car-care clinic and the LeMay Family Collection 500-car museum on Sunday.

Cost for the auto-cross event is $50 for one car and driver, and $25 for each additional car or driver. Cost for the LeMay museum tour is $10, and the Griot's Garage clinic is free. The Viper Club is hosting the Friday night reception and Saturday lunch.

To join in this event, you must be a current Viper Club of America member, Co-member, or Associate Member. If you would like to renew your membership and join us, please visit this website if you own a Viper, and you can update/renew your membership and co-member information:

https://www.viperclub.org/join/

If you do not currently own a Viper, and would like to join us, please visit this web site and sign up for Associate Membership. This is available to former Viper owners that no longer have their car, and anyone else that wants to join us for some fun. There is even a division for non-Viper cars - and while Associate members cannot qualify to be the Zone representative, you can still join us for some Viper-style fun!

Complete membership information is available here: http://www.wavca.org/membership/membership.html

Details on the auto-cross event itself are here: http://www.wavca.org/events/autocross/a-x_main.html

RSVP's are always appreciated, so that we can better plan the event. Thank-you in advance!

We will be sending out an update prior to the event, with final details.

Hope to see you there!

Hi Steve, do you have an agenda for the August rendezvous? I can't seem to be able to find it.

We haven't published the August agenda just yet...we're still finishing it. It will look very similar to the July agenda that we published, except that Griot's is not available that Sunday, so we're working on filling in another event. Everything else should be the same - hotel (Best Western Tacoma Dome already booked, same pricing, July 27th cut-off for special pricing, more rooms blocked), Friday night reception, Saturday autocross, Saturday night dinner, and LeMay family collection on Sunday.

I should have an update out Tuesday with final details on Friday night reception and Sunday lunch for this coming weekend.

Please note that the special hotel pricing for next weekend is only available for booking through tomorrow (Monday). So, for anyone planning on coming out this coming weekend, don't forget to book your hotel today or tomorrow.

4 other cars that I know of. Myself, and 3 cars from Oregon. Lots of folks coming to dinner Saturday night, and looks like about 14-17 cars for Saturday A-X.
Free beverages Friday night to encourage pre-registration!

3 Cars are forming a convoy north of Seattle down to Shelton on Saturday. The meetup is at the 160th (south Bothell) park-and-ride on I-405 leaving at 5:30 AM. Feel free to join us.

Steve was first in Modified, fastest overall
I was first in Open (it took a freak hurricane for Steve to beat me :) )
Cant remember who won stock, it may have been Ted from Oregon.

It was raining and wet all day, kind of a downer.
Hopefully in August we will have some dry pavement and I can put my new pilot cups to work! :D

I didn't get any pictures but Gary had a nice camera and said he would email me some, when I get them I will share.

The event was well attended, despite the dubious weather forecast. Some folks came from as far away as Roseburg, OR (312 mi). And while a good time was had by all, it did take a bit of grit at times, as the rain dumped monsoons onto the track, forcing 3 closures and an early end, and the wind tossed an awning across it like a tumbleweed.

Despite the awful weather, the Washington and Oregon VCA members had a great time together, and are looking forward to a re-match next year (in Oregon?).

Here are the Official results for Part I - Oregon visits Washington:

Here are the top placements in each division:

Viper Stock 1st Place - Ted Rainville, 90.87
2nd Place - Steve Wood, 91.319

Viper Modified 1st Place - Steve O'Neill, 86.332
2nd Place - Bob Pearson, 89.998

Viper Open 1st Place - Clint Shearer, 87.198
2nd Place - John Boegner, 93.569

1st Place Viper Overall - Steve O'Neill, 86.332
