I've owned my Viper for about 4 months now and love it. 1997 GTS 20k
since I've owned it though there has been some clutch chatter in neutral with the clutch engaged. depress the clutch and it disappears. Now I'm probabaly just being picky because i've seen other posts where it's fairly common but I think I want to have it fixed for peace of mind. I also want to have the A/C recharged, it must have a freon leak somewhere.

Any reccomendations for a shop in or near Tampa, FL?

please email me [email protected]

If the TPA name is Scott be very afraid.

There is a Porsche-Maserati Exotic dealer there that does some Viper work, met them at Sebring.

Larry Macedo and Sean Roe are relatively near.

----Hot down there?!? Any shop that can recharge a Dodge Caravan can service the A/C.

---New car to you ?? Neutral Gear Rattle is COMMON on 96-98 GTS. Team Viper even made a spoof video about NGR. Change to the 2000+ spec trans fluid to eliminate 80% of it, the trans is tagged for Dexron 3 ATF. Lose That!

Be sure and read up here in that regional area forum for what is happening and who others have used before.

John Canal is the VCA North Central Florida president. If you would like his contact information send a PM.

Chuck 98 here might be a person to ask for a referral and he lives in the Florida region.

I've had good luck with Tom Edwards Dodge in Bartow. It's 30 miles out from Brandon but their Viper specialist seems to be very knowledgable and very careful with the vehicles.

A/C will cost you $800. A/C is always $800 in Florida. Doesn't matter what is needed the bill will always be $800 even if all they have to do is replace that o-ring, which is probably the problem.

Jerry Ulm on Dale Mabry has a Viper Tech, Mike. He seems ok.

I just finished the floor today. Hoping to get the lift in two weeks. I think you were planning on coming by for some minor work. We can do the o-ring and charge and change the tranny fluid.

Chuck, when I get my transmission back in I'll need to stop by and check out the new digs. Looks very 'GQ' from an automotive perspective. Heah...Chuck and GQ in the same sentence!!!

Yes chuck, I'm planning on it. that would be wonderful if you could help me with all that. I think I mentioned to you that while I "am" handy, I'll need strict supervision when tinkering with the car.. :)

Just checking out options for worst case I suppse. please keep me posted. and thanks to all for contacts.. I've saved this thread to refer to.
