Looking to get the paxton put in soon and was wondering what other "might as well" stuff I should do. I am thinking upgraded harmonic dampener, front main seal, power steering pulley, engine and transmission mounts, pin the dampener, boost gauge and wide band.. Any other suggestions? Will be running the 7 psi boost but have a pulley for 14 as well which I may put if but satisfied with the 7 psi.

I may need a lower psi pulley. I think I have about an 11psi pulley, so let me know if you want to trade!!!

The main thing you will need to do, is build a fuel system. New fuel pumps, lines, 100 micron filter, pressure gage, fuel pressure regulator, rails, Injectors, etc... Need more fuel for higher boost. Also, I am doing twin Catch Cans. You may also need to mount your Power Steering Cooler in a different location. I have a thread on all I am doing so you may want to subscribe to it. Let me know if you need the link.

dyc, everything you posted is a must and well as what frog said. fuel system is most needed. if you can key the crank, its better than pinning it. it can be done in the car if you are in south florida (DLM)

Actually, the main thing you need is half-shafts. A friend of mine skipped them and snapped the stock shafts first time out. They are weak on a stock car and wheel-hop will destroy them. spend the extra money and do it else you'll be whining here for a set of used ones or paying full i-just-broke-my-sh*t price to one of the local vendors.

good luck!

if you are like me, not going to a track or any stop light stuff. just doing highway pulls you might be fine

i ran a TON of nitrous with 600rwhp/856rwtq and never broke the half shafts. but on a track, it would be a one shot deal then broke

Upgraded half shafts even for a measly 600 rwhp?

Yup. The stockers break w/o any power mods. try SEARCH and you'll see all the carnage. Baby the cars and you get lucky. Even Plum didn't dump the clutch on NOS on the street. But launch hard once and kiss those shafts buh-bye.

What mods can be done to reduce wheel hop on these cars? seems like they are prone to it. Mine wheel hops in 1st with even moderate romps. I have very little power too (470/480)
thanks

I added Springs first thing to both my Vipers and didn't really experience any wheel hop. My 2005 Mustang GT gets it pretty bad at times, so I know what it feels like, but my GTS never gets it neither did my RT/10. Maybe I never get it on Vipers because I lower them so quickly. Springs, Spring Caps and adjusting the shock settings, no wheel hop for me that I really know about.

I have acr coil overs . It's much lower than stock. I do have 5 year old tires. I'll be replacing them in the spring. Hope that helps.

just a quick update. the paxton is getting installed this week hopefully done for middle of next week. i went with the billet power steering pulley, putting in a walbro 255, and pinning the crank pulley. sticking with the stock harmonic damper until I decide to up the boost.

speaking of which, would i be better off upping the boost or putting in headers?

car is pretty much bone stock except for b&b exhaust with roe high flow cats and now the paxton kit and walbro 255 pump. i figure the boost increase could add more power than the headers and probably cost me almost the same amount? with boost increase to 14 psi from the 7 psi, i figure i would need to have the damper put in for about 550, remove and replace the supercharger pulley for about 100 (already have the higher boost pulley).

anything else needed? other fuel system upgrades? seems like bang for the buck, i will be better off adding boost rather than headers.

the stock balancer is junk. for the couple bucks, do it now.

id get headers before upping boost.

are you still using the paxton fuel system ? and adding a better pump in the tank to replace the stock one ?

Retaining the paxton fuel system but putting in a single 255 walbro to replace the stock in tank fuel pump.

then keep the boost low. the paxton fuel system is junk. its not made for anything higher than stock boost. if higher, you are asking for problems.
