When I purchased. My 2002 FE a couple of years ago I got two keys with the car. One worked and the other didn't. I figured it was a bad battery but I recently replaced the battery and it still doesn't work. Ay suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Brentt

I haven't tried holding both buttons down, but I get nothing, nada, zip, with one.

For others who may be confused by the above question: "How do I program the key?"...these are simple keys...no chips. The poster is referring to the process of programming the fob (the remote transmitter usually attached to the key). Also re-synchronizing a fob and programming a fob are two distinct processes.

Correct you are. The second keyfob could very well already be programmed but out of Syncronization. The Viper uses a rolling code security system. The fob and DEI door entry module increment together. So replacing the battery might not fix. First thing you do is hold both the buttons down and attempt to recync. If that does not work, then you program the fob.
