Great idea! He drove it today so I just left a note re: upcoming Viper stuff, mentioned the facts that my wife and I attend them and I don't bring it to work, and I threw in a P.Ss that if this annoys him then I feel bad. Walked around the parking lot like nine times and I started sweating bullets as I approached the car but mission accomplished - We'll see how it goes now, I guess.

Appreciate the help fellas!! I realize this was a "strange" request (I agree, it sounded a lil' ***) but you know how it goes...SWMBO gave a me a really weird look when I brought this up over the weekend, as well.

Glad I could help! I hope it works out and you get a new cruizin' buddy.

The note under the windshield isn't that strange. People have left them under mine in a few of my cars and I take it as a compliment. Only weird part will be if he IS a VCA member and sees this thread, lol.

I'm on a teeny tiny little air force base in Abilene, Texas, and I drive Janni Cone's old 96 GTS (painted like the American Flag). I saw a blue and white GTS on base a while back and it instantly caught my attention. It was a '97, and I only saw it a few times. I wanted to leave a note, but I'm enlisted and there's a line between enlisted an officers...and I wasn't sure what rank the owner was/is. I've only seen 1 other Viper in town, and it was owned by a lawyer that didn't really seem like he saw it as anything more than a status symbol. I'm thinking about starting up an Abilene chapter of the VCA, and my son can drive his electric miniature SRT Viper to meetings and functions. We'll be the only Vipers there, but that's fine with me. I spent 3 years in Vegas, and really got spoiled by all the great people there. Now I miss the camaraderie and have to hang out with the local Vette Club. Don't get me wrong, I really like hanging out with them (even if they told me that I'd have to leave if I drew too much attention...aka stole their thunder), but they just lack the passion for the car like Viper owners.

I know exactly what you're talking about re: Vette Club as I used to have an '00. Sometimes I just wanted to shout: "we're all in this together, no?" Also, don't mention that "V" word ever again, ok? :smirk: There are folks around here that'll tell you to "go drive/buy one" if they get their hair tousled...:dunno:

You should come down to Austin later this month for our Viper Round-up (never been but I hear it's a blast!). I think it's always good to put faces to names and hang with the fellas...I arrive Sat AM - Hope to see you there.

Absolutely - The ***** that seem to take it or make it personal are probably the same yo-yos that had issues in HS, right?

You going to VOI? If so, I hope you drive so I can leave a note on your car...:smirk:

Yep, I will be there. I'll keep an eye out for pink business cards under my windshield wipers.

I'm in a Vette club also and most of em want me to drive the Viper and park in our area on cruise night because it draws a crowd and they get some attention too, plus on the non-sanctioned "spirited" drives that a few like to do. Is one hater in the group but he's always been a punkin head anyway.
I look forward to a pink calling card on mine at VOI :eater:

It had 16K miles on it when I got it in 2005, and now it's about to roll over 35K. I know some might consider it high mileage, but to me it's irrelevant because I'm never going to get rid of it.

I don't know....first the follow him into the mens' room comment, then you're snake show and tell comment.... I'm in cramps !!! :D

Im on a small island in the pacific so maybe this is a mainland thing...but Im not getting it?

He said he wanted to meet a fellow viper owner and let him know that he as well has a snake and then they can get together and check out eachothers ride..

I stated..

Goodluck....hopefully hell call you and you too can hook up and show eachother your snakes......

Both snakes are gonna have wide rears and that big ole ten up front.....

The other owner does have a viper and not a wannbee snake like a mustang cobra right? Is that why its funny when I said show each other there snakes cas really only the vipers a snake?
