I installed these on my GTS, and just be forewarned that there is some cutting involved for the mounting bracket. If you have a spouse, make sure you tell them what you're doing beforehand so they don't walk out and see you taking a saw to your Viper. I won't repeat what my wife said, be she was VERY curious as to what I was doing. The kit comes with a template so you can mark exactly where the line is, and I probably double, triple and quadruple checked my measurements prior to cutting. The new system is so far superior to the factory system that you'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner. When I show people the little piece of crap that WAS the back brake they just shake their head. Now it's used as the parking brake, and that's about all it's good for. When you consider what a new hood costs, this is actually a pretty good bargain. I had mine on in a day, and did them in my driveway with common tools. It is by far the best, most practicle mod I've done on my car.

As I recall, isn't it a little part of the A arm you have to cut off? I guess at the end of the day it's not a big deal, I think that part is off of a Dodge Dakota so it'as not like you can't come up with another one if you screwed up.

Please forgive me for the brief hijack here but I have to ask. Do the guys who upgrade Gen 2 ABS brakes notice a similar improvement to what 96GTS is describing or is it more of a suttle improvement? Probably a question for Jon B (can I say that?) but since we're on the topic.

I have the Stoptech 4 wheel big brake kit on my non-abs 2000 Viper and it was the best upgrade I made since it was used as a road race car. Amazing difference from the stock brakes. Yes you do have to shave the rear knuckle a little bit for compression clearance.

No. There is a separate kit for non-ABS cars.

I've had this question from several, and I honestly don't know the answer. I know there are two kits available for ABS and non ABS, but don't know the structural difference of the kit.

I have DBB kit, which was on the car when I got it. Works great for me.

Ron..Why did you get another 2000, I though you were going to get a Gen 4 ACR?

My Stoptechs on my '01 are frickin' UNbelievable. Best part is I can get on the gas more and stay on it MUCH longer.:)

Should have been my first mod.

I believe the caliper pistons diameters are different between the ABS and NON ABS kits. The non abs kits were made specifically with no abs in mind and act like a proportioning valve moving some of the bias to the back to take advantage or your new MUCH better rear brakes.

Did you repost the ad? based on the comments, these must be for abs equipped cars.
