there was a specific car I wanted to buy that was for sale near me last year. I ended up passing on the deal at the time, but it was a specific car I wanted. I saved the vin number in case I might be able to track it down at a later date. Anybody know if there is a way to find out who is currently registered to the car? I want to give them a call and see if they are interested in selling.

used to be but most bmvs won't do it anymore because you might be a stalker, have any police friends?
It's all the privacy laws. If you get a carfax you can probably narrow it down to a city/dealer. From ther you might be able to track it down.

Thats a good idea to narrow it down....it'll of course tell you any dealers that serviced it or any inspection stations that tested it.

Here's a bad idea: once you know the town, call in a terrorist dirty bomb threat associated with that VIN and watch where all the sirens go. :)

i have the previous owner info and the ebay for sale ad of when the car sold....but still not having luck. I had everything ******* in my business so I couldnt jump on it...it was right down the street from me too!!! I think its somewhere in florida and a guy bought it for his 16 year old kid if I remember right. It was a silver 99 gts acr built at archer performance with a 800hp paxton kit installed.

its a damn shame, i specifically want a silver 99 gts acr with either a paxton or turbo's....i hope he sells it to me!!!!!

I know some folks at USAA and will see if they can do this. I liked the Car Fax idea, as well. Also, maybe the person is on here...who knows.

Good luck!

i have the owners name and I did see it registered under the VCA as a member. I've been searching through threads all day seeing if I can find something!

So, why don't you CALL the various Fla. VCA presidents listed on this site to see they can/want to assist you??
