I am only interested in the comments from those that will see the car tomorrow in NY. They will see the outside, the new interior and will let us know what the HP is. I won't be there but am envious of those that are. I still think the HP will start with a 7.

Looking further, it is starting to look better to me. 
I did not like the Gen 3 at first and now I have one and really like its looks, so I suppose I just have to give it time. It is my nature to have unrealisticly high expectations and then at first be dissappointed only to later begin to look closer. My wife, on the other hand, has always had low expectations of things and thus married ME...

I like the looks of all Gens of the Viper, and this one is a winner - the next step. I heard these same comments over on the Charger forums when we were talking about the Gen2 SRT8. I still like my 07 (think the front end looks meaner) but the new one has really grown on me - and the 392 aint' bad either.
The same goes for this new Viper. I think it will grow on the doubters, and the new power (I'm predicting 675hp/625 lb-ft) will blow everyone away.

I just threw up seeing those photos. 
It doesn't do it for me like the Gen II does today after 14 years of owning it.

I'll wait till tomorrow for final judgement...but these pics confirm my fears. Terrible front to back width ratio. The same problem that plagued the gen III/IV. Also, it looks to have a really high back again instead of that low/squatty exotic GTS stance. Hopefully it's just the angle

Interesting responses, it seems the enthusiast crowd with very few posts doesn't like the car. The active members seem to want it.
What is certainly true is the car will look way better in person than on those photos ...less than 24 hours now, I'm excited to see it even if it will cost a new kitchen and master bath to get one

The car looks awesome. It compliments the Gen2-3-4 coupes and keeps them very relevant. I can't wait for the interior and mechanical images now.

Except you can't do anything, absolutely nothing to a 392 other than put on some over priced Mopar intake on it. At this point, It seems Chrysler wants every new LX owner to buy their parts FROM them and no one else. It's been an on going debate between older LX owners to get Chrysler to release the computer stuff to unlock and start playing around with it. There's alot of people out there that would love to have a gen II LX...BUT most of them are HP junkies, so they stick with the 6.1L Hemi. Alot of them would love to build up a 6.4L 392. Even John Fortuno's gen II 300 has a built 6.1L-built into a 426.
As for the...err...Viper...
I'm not really sure what to make of it. I'm glad it looks like a gen II but it's not what I expected it to be. I'm not diggin' that black out rear surround, nor do I like the crosshairs in black. That alone looks pretty goofy and like the Charger SRT8, should be painted to match the rest of the car. But the absolute worst thing that bugs me...are those headlights. There's a trillon different ways to design headlights and they pick those. Who on earth thought those would look good on a car that has always carried out that unmistakeable, aggressive slightly cartoonish 'face'? It's not supposed to be a wide mouth bass with near horizontally apposed lights and no emotions.
I know, you guys probably think I'm some kind of loon, but it's true. It's not just about the shape, it just needs a little character.

I'm sure in person its gonna look great. Obviously, not everything is gonna appeal to everyone, but as a whole its gonna be great(I hope). its the pricing I'm afraid of

As opinions go, mine is cheap as well. Every other generation of the Viper looks far better. Hopefully this is not the car we will see tomorrow.
Well, one thing is for sure, the design is polarizing. I feel like every new Viper design is. Deep down inside everyone wanted a car the world would drool over. I just don't see this being that car. Explain to me how this design isn't playing it safe? I feel like every element on this car has been done before, but with greater dramatic flare. The problem is, Dodge designers got stuck trying to go retro-modern. That works if the retro design your emulating is 30-50 years old. But to go retro on a design that is only 15 years old makes the new one feel stale. Instead of trying to recreate the classic look (which hasn't had long enough to become truly classic) they should have pushed the design forward more.
Look at what Ferrari did when it went from 348 to 355 - then it designed leaped to 360 and F430 - then it designed LEAPED WAY AHEAD to 458 Italia. Considering Gen 1 & 2 were same platform - then leap to Gen 3 & 4 - now this is where the BIG leap forward was supposed to happen - GEN V - the viper that re-imagines the American Dream Car. And this is it? How can anyone accept this? Going the 911 route is a HUGE MISTAKE. And that's what this feels like. Like Dodge has boxed themselves in, afraid to take a risk and alienate the old owners. That anxiety has led them to play it safe.
I want to love this car as much as anyone. I live in NYC and will see it first hand soon. But I remember when I first saw the Viper at the Autoshow back in the day. Not sure this design will leave that same impression. Especially not after what the high end exotics are delivering now.

If it works for Porsche and Corvette, then maybe Dodge/Chrysler is doing the smart thing. You want the car to be instantly identifiable.

I'm gonna wait until actual pics of the car to make as bold of a statement as I love it, but I really like what I see. It's a modern GTS. It screams Viper to me, even without the tear drop headlights and crosshairs. I'm sure this Gen is going to look insanely good in person. I can't wait for tomorrow morning!!
