Which coil over to choose?

Does anyone have any recomendation as to which coil over to use? I've narrow my choice as per the following ones:
  1. Penske 8300
  2. Kw Variant 2
I like to use it for trac and street driving. Also I would like to lower the factory ride height too. I do not want the car to feel to loose during cornering or bottom out during sudden pavement elevation changes. Any help would be appreciated.:)

I bought KW2's. The steering and overall suspension with these coils are great, along with the improved overall appearance of the car with a lowered ride height. It's too bad these cars didn't come like this from factory.

I'm not gonna say my KW2's are better than the Penske, since I've never had them on my car. So you'll have to wait for someone else to chime in who bought the Penske coils or perhaps has used both sets of coil-overs on their car before.

I have searched high and low and I can't for the life of me find anyone who has run them or is currently running them. I called snakeoyl and they told me the shocks are built by Afco. They do seem to be a quality shock for a decent price, but the fact that no one has used them makes me gun shy. I need a new suspension system in the worst way, but want a quality product at a decent price and that seems to be next to impossible to find for a Gen II.

Do a search for AFCO and you will probably find a reason.

You should also look into Ohlin, they have been working for a couple of years now and have developed Shocks and Springs for the Viper.

The Ohlins have never been a dual purpose shock, they make great track stuff, but have never had what it takes to work and last on the street. I was around when this was tried and they could not get what they needed to make it work, I'm pretty sure that is why they never materialized.

I am currently working with d2 to create a budget friendly street with occasional track day coilover dual adjustable setup in the 1400 dollar range. If you look at my recent threads there is info there. If your looking to buy now I can't help you but if your looking shortly down the line we should have more info for this setup.

My ACR has the Penske 8300's and I love them, granted I don't have anything to compare to since they were already on the car when I bought it, but it handles great on the track. Although talking to Penske it seems they recommend having them serviced once a year which can be costly and a pain in the rear.

I know I might get a few negative responces with this but oh well, I just hope its from people that have experienced them and not just heard from others .

I have Aldan American Eagle all aluminum, double adjustable rebound and compression 754's and they work great. I have a Lemans front fascia/splitter combo that is 3.5 inches off the ground and I have dipped the car through some uneven pavement many a time and not hit or scraped once. Remarkable considering in my stock car I would have scraped the front lip under those conditions. Here is some info on them if your interested. They are 495 dollars for a pair with springs and are rebuildable as well, now I have to say I have ridden in cars with Eibachs and KW's and did not find them to my liking as they swayed more around tight corners and felt more like a boat ride then a race application I am sure people have said that about these shocks as well but, in the end its personal preference and marketing. Here is some info from their website, ............................

Aldan Eagle shocks are available in either 12 position rebound adjustable, 6 position compression adjustable, or double adjustable rebound and compression.
The Aldan Shock Absorber Company has been in the shock absorber business for almost three decades and is the preferred shock for the street rodder who is interested in only the finest shock for his or her street rod. Just to add, the shocks are probably around 10-15 years old and still in perfect condition.

Where can these penske's be purchased? Does anyone offer them with springs already assembled?
