If you pay enough to the track you can get any pace car you want. This is not because of anything but GM buying the rights to the spot. Anyway Illinois club will be in Indy on Friday & Saturday at the track w/ about 30 Vipers. God Bless America.

That's some good stuff right there. I will keep that in mind. Although I don't get to the track like I once did, I don't recall ever being passed by a 'vette. Of course, there really weren't all that many at the open track days - maybe they were all at the "exclusive" corvette track days.... :smirk:

I can't help but be amused by comments like this given the percentages of 'vettes that ever see a road course compared to the percentage of Vipers.

As for the pace car deal, perhaps they chose the 'vette to go with the chef. I understand chefs usually prefer an automatic car..... :rolaugh:

This thread has all kinds of humor potential if the accomplished trash talkers will jump in. :tx:

I am seriously looking at the Gen V and also a new GT-R; but it is ignorant posts like these that give me pause.

As far as your "modified C6" goes, anyone with money can modify anything and beat about anybody... What does that prove? Nothing... Raced any modified Vipers? I have a friend with a modified Viper with around 1200 hp that would make your modifed C6 look like it is going in reverse. But, then again, that proves nothing just like your comments about waxing Vipers proves nothing.

I've had a stock C6 and now a stock Viper. It's the "driving experience" my man, and that is why I have the Viper now and no longer a C6.

Your last sentence, however, is the one that makes no sense on any mature level. So, you would let a couple posts in a thread on a car forum influence a decsion on what car to buy? Wow, now that is just down right silly.

dj, not to rain on your parade but Vipers are "Exclusive" as far as numbers built, looks and performance. I believe only around 28,000 have ever been built vs over 200,000 of your beloved C6 and close to 1.4 million total. I also understand that about 36% of Vipers have been crashed due to the lack of your Vettes nannies (to what extent they are destroyed I am not sure) making it a true drivers car. You seem to think that us "old farts" think we are hot **** with our snakes but since you really do not know us you have no clue how many also have a Vette (or several) in the stable plus other exotics and muscle cars. I got my first Vette when I was 18, I would give a left nut and a kidney to get all the Vipers I want but seriously I wouldn't bother to blow a fart for another Vette. Enjoy your ride, grow up and get your ******* out of a *** and quit worrying what others think.
