My plan was to fly out to the East Coast next week and buy a 1970 real deal "R" code Hemi Challenger that I've have been talking to the owner about. That got me thinking that why would I spend over 100K on more old cars that don't handle well, don't corner well, and brake like crap. I already have 7 1970 Challengers (big blocks, small blocks and T/A's) and really don't need another. I do love looking at old muscle cars, but I got thinking about my Viper and I thought I should buy more of those..... logged in to this site and saw this thread so I called Tony to talk about the car. He gave me what I think is a fair shake, I'm not stealing it nor do I feel he's ripping me off.... fair. So on the call I told him I'll buy it and sent him the deposit.

I should just start buying more of these things now that they have hit this price range. The Gen 2 GTS is brilliant and will forever be a fantastic fun car. Time to start pigeonholing these things! Anyone waiting for them to get cheaper is being silly.

Haven't told the wife yet, hope she's okay with it! :)

LOL, I was wondering how long it would take for someone here to find the ebay listing! :) You guys don't miss much.

I put the car on ebay. My wife and I are thinking about doing a "large" home remodel and the garage space will be very limited for the next two years as we add a 4,100 SF dream garage. Already sold two cars to clear out the needed room to do the remodel, but really should sell one more. I have a plane ticket and ready to pick the Viper up in a few weeks, but if someone wants to buy it before I go get it I would let it go to a new home. Had lots of calls and I think someone is going to look it in the next few days, but it's not sold yet and if it doesn't sell I will be happy to bring it back home to the West Coast.

Sale pending....

Oh well, each to their own I guess. It is your car now and you do as you wish....smart move though buying it cheap and selling for a few thousand in 3 weeks.

Soooo, is it for sale still????

No it is not, a person that was previously interested saw the ebay ad and realized it was the same car and wired a deposit to Cody very quick.
There was also someone local (2 hours) that was coming with cash tomorrow but had not placed a deposit.

Might have been able to make some money on this car as Tony was offering a VERY good deal, but I sold it for exactly what Tony sold it to me for. Even sent the new owner a free shifter and I think Tony was offering to install it for free too. Viper owners are the best!

I wasn't looking to make any money on it, I was just freeing up some space and funds to build my dream garage. Sold three cars and going in for permits next week. :)

BTW, if I didn't sell the Viper I would have flown down and drove the viper home. Tony was offering this car at an extremely good deal and was great to work with. I said I would buy it and I was for sure not going to ask Tony to sell it after I told him it was sold. All in all it ended really well for the new owner. He's very happy!
