Hello

a few days ago i have driven my 01 Gts home and it began to rain.

I drove max 60 mph as i realised that the Abs light went on.

Yesterday i was by the dealer to read out the faults what have been setted.

There are 5 of them
1:front left speed sensor no signal
2:front right speed sensor nosignal
3:System Overvoltage
4:System Undervoltage
5:System failure
We have erased the faultcodes and theres no code setted yet but the abslight is still on :/

Has anyone have a idea what this can be or maybe had the same problem?

I have a 97 GTS but I also have a 2001 Chassis Diagnostic Procedures manual. According to it, you have a CAB (Controller Antilock Brake), essentially a microprocessor that monitors wheel speeds and controls antilock functions. The CAB has 2 microprocessors that receive identical signals, process them independently and then compare the results. If they disagree, the ABS warning light is illuminated.

The CAB (it's a box) is located just below the LH radiator support. Open it up, check wires, connections, clean it up with alcohol and you should be good to go. The codes will reset only after you drive over 15mph (wheel speed sensors need to talk to CAB). Also check all the connections from the left and right front wheels to the CAB.

If this doesn't work, I have more info in the book for each of the mentioned codes.

Check if the ABS works by finding a safe place to jump on the brakes.

The lights comes on during start up by default and when the system checks okay it turns it off. If the wire has been compromised or damaged the system will still work but the light will stay on. Just a thought.

By that, I hope you mean that braking will work. Yes it will behave as a non-ABS car. That's the whole point of raising those faults. The microprocessors say that they cannot trust the input and will not give an output.

My ABS light is on and the ABS works perfectly. The tech found the wire to be broke that turns the light off, but the rest of the system is really working fine. Just a thought.

That's interesting Cody. But how are going to know when it really fails. You gotta fix that wire before you find out the hard way.

Easy to see if the ABS works. Like I said, find a place safe and see if the brakes lock up. My ABS works great, and I was just suggesting something to consider if everything is working and no more codes but the light is still on.

Good luck with the fix.

Will check if it works like a ABS car tomorrow.
Noticed that if i came short before a stop and have the steering a little right the brake prdal pumps itself for 1 second like a real ABS work. But thats only from say 5km/h to 0 hmmm
