Hoosier A6 or Kuhmo V710

How many ~60 sec. autocross runs can you get(on average) from a set of A6 and V710?
Racing on blacktop.

Trying to decide if it's worth getting a set just to see how much better my times can get.

The A6s will improve your time so much that you won't be concerned about how long they last. -If you drive very clean, they'll probably last long enough to be worth the upgrade. I'm still contemplating R6s for HPDE roadcourse use....right now I'm trying to take my own advice about driving clean and tidy. You and I are in the same boat. Everybody I talk to that runs Hoosiers gives me a different take on longevity. Really depends on the driver and the car set up (alignment). but no one is reporting 80,000 miles out of Hoosiers though.

Kumho made it easy for you. They stopped making the the Viper sized tires, at least the gen 3/4 rear sizes.

if you can a afford it, run a new set of r6 ez about 15 miles at moderate forces, last lap give it hell.. pull off tires and let sit for about a month. after that they will be seasoned. i have done this and they will last alot longer doing it this way.. alot longer, heat cycled green tires will burn up fast!!!!!

I was told by "someone", you only get about 20 runs out of them. If that's the case, they would only last me 2 autocross events which equates to about $800 per event just in tires.
Since we race for fun, I can't see spending that.

The first 10-15 runs will be the best ones then time starts falling off and when you're talking 10ths and 100ths of a second that will be noticeable. I generally ran a set for 15-20 minutes then sold them off, replacing them for the the added time. If you are just doing it for the fun of it then they will last you to the cords if your willing, maybe all season or more for autocrossing. The A6's will wear ok at the track once seasoned, but will get slippery fast compared to the R6's.

The V700's are no longer made in Viper rear tire sizes, I believe you can still get the V710's however [at least in 18].

The 710s are closer to the R6s.....road course tires. The A6's are absolutely amazing for either road course or AutoX, though they don't last as long on a road course for obvious reasons.

If you're doing AutoX and break them in properly (follow instructions to the T...and beyond) the A6's are probably the choice....when their performance falls off, they're more like R6s.....not bad.

Sorry I have no idea how many 60 second runs an A6 will endure; what I can tell you is they'll do a 20+ 8 minute Time Trial sessions if pushed.....though most people put the rears on the front and replace the rears at around the 8 session mark.
