My good friend RedEnuf93 told me to ask if you’d consider selling me a red or gray 2001-02 GTS or ACR with 10000 miles max. With or without stripes, Final Edition or not - won’t make a difference.

Although a beautiful exterior and a clean title get my attention, an unmodified car with a clean, rust and road salt free chassis and a verifiable service/ownership history would really excite me.

Accident history, wings, tinted windows, superchargers, roll bars, powder coated wheels, Cognac interior and yellow or blue exterior just turn me off - no matter how good they look. Sorry.

Please send me a pm on what you have. I have cash ready for the right car.

Personally no, but I have driven a few. I used to own a Corvette and I understand well that they are two different animals.

You sound like most people looking for a used car, want a perfect car with low low miles for pennies on a dollar! Like everyone else said Good Luck! jmo

If you don't find anything you like, you may consider relaxing the "10,000 mile max" criteria. A well-treated 40,000 mile car of that vintage will drive just as well as a 10,000 mile example (and go at least another 60K!).

I don't remember writing the words "perfect" or "pennies" in my initial post, but I do understand what you all want to say. No offense taken. :) However, I have seen rust-free-chassis cars before (and bought 2 of them), so I believe they exist. Don't mind "adjusting" my expectations if needed.

I agree, I would stay away from the blue or yellow cars because they are the most expensive.

I don't think he ever said he wanted it cheap. I am sure he knows he will have to pay a premium for a premium car or may have to search much longer to find that elusive "deal". That said I recommend paying a little more and getting a quality car, I feel the experience will be much better. Cars with under 10,000 miles tend to hold their value much better but are getting harder and harder to find as they get older.

He'll never sell it with his inbox full. LOL I agree, if it is stil available I would be all over that. 50g is actually too cheap, he should have listed it for 60 and dropped down to 55 making whoever bought if feel as if they got a great deal. Viper like that take a long time to sell at 50g or 60g, the only difference is how much you walk away with. Look at how long some of the pristine cars sit on Bernies site but they all eventually sell for what he is asking or close to it.

You guys with Gen 2's (and I am one) are in for a rude awakening at sale time thinking you're going to get big bucks.
The market for them is shrinking and there are lots out there with more to come for sale as each generation appears.
Nobody is looking for a 50K Gen 2. They want 30K Gen 2's.

Everyone wants 30k gen 2, but the true buyers who want a good car will pay the low 40s prices. 50+ buyers are rare...

Sorry, LSV if that came out wrong. I know what you mean, I was pretty much looking for the same thing (I didn't want one over 10k miles & it HAD to be Steel Gray) I got very lucky cause there's not a lot of them around that are also in mint condition. And I paid under 40k & like I said it doesn't have a scratch on it, interior looks brand new (had under 8k miles on it). They're out there just be patient & you'll find it. You can't get RedEnuf to sell you his, never seen it in person but from the pics it looks Beautiful! jmo

Welcome to the Viper forum Kari.

FYI, He has driven my Viper on many, many occations and hundreds of miles, including the memorable "Myrtle Beach to Dallas" purchase trip. I've known Kari for 30+ years and I know that he is quite patient in his search to find a great car. However, yes..., he seems to have a particular taste for unmolested, nice, clean, original cars with no stories. That pretty much makes my Viper "un-marketable", hah, haa!!:D It's full of stories, blowers and wings. Hey, it's all good.

If someone has a nice car fitting the criteria above, please let LSV10 know... I rather see him in a Viper than a ZR-1... :2tu: (right???)

Thanks everyone! If nothing else, it's good to know that this group has a sense of humor!

A big thanks to VicTx10 for an interesting lead. I have known about this car, because the owner has tried to sell it before. I'll definitely give Robert a call.

At the moment I have a couple of leads, and I'll try to get some action going during the weekend. The work is crazy busy at the moment, and I don't want to make car deals tired!

Hope everything works out for you. Also tell Lauri hello. I live in Victoria and a customer of Torin Bales. He used to work there. Small world!!

I have mine in the classifieds. I would put it up against any 10000 mile car. It has only averaged a little over 2500 miles a year. Steve 2001 red/acr.

Border crossings and foreign currency trade do not interest me even though the car looks great. Within the past year there has been one GTS with 900 miles and one with less than 100 for sale in the U.S., but both sold for low 50K. I'm not sure what the exchange rate is currently, but the Canadian dollar has been higher than the American, so the price for this car is close to what the car cost new.

Thanks for the lead anyway!

I wouldn't pay that for the car either. Our dollar is lower than yours now. But thats for us to buy american, Im sure its the same for you (american buying canadian). So It's probably on par. If you like the car, I do.. its a FE car, make him an offer, couldn't hurt I'm sure. I can help out with whatever I can because I live in the same city.

Here's another for sale, (i know its not red) but he told me to make him an offer. Unfortunately I can't afford it at any cost right now, but lookin out for other people interested in these cars. This car is also extremely clean.

Let me place the word "foolish" in front of the word buyers.

George I'm not sure calling someone who has an interest in a very specific and unique car............ foolish. It may seem foolish to you, however ultra low mileage, bone stock cars are becoming rare indeed. The fact that these cars still have interested buyers, some 10 years after the last one rolled off the assembly line, should tell you something. As much as I believe the Gen III is a better car than the Gen II, we'll see if it ever has the same following that the Gen II has.

I have a hard time accepting a yellow car color. It may be silly, but I simply don't like it. Also, if I had wanted a yellow one, I would already have one. There are many low-mileage yellow ones for sale at a reasonable price on different sites, but I don't see them moving very fast. It's a great color if you wanna get noticed or if you want to get the '70s feeling!

All that said, I really like your thinking Ev0lv3! Thanks! Decisions, decisions... :)

Let's also not confuse that GTS's seem to be going for a few thousand higher than RT/10's. It's pretty crazy that you can buy a sick convertible nowadays for mid-30's that has styling like no other and pulls a low 12 sec quarter.
