Very sorry to hear this news. Dan has always been a class act ... always willing to help.

As others have stated, really don't think this will be the end of Dan/Viper.

A SRT Dealership would be the ticket!! .... in Texas ....

Total bummer. You guys did a great job reflashing my gen 1 PCM. I was hoping to send it in again after further mods. :(

I'm sure Dan will land of his feet, and hopefully soon (and still in SoCal:).

He did a full check up on my recently purchased GTS a few months before I purchased it, and to be honest that was one of the main reasons I bought it. I knew it had been gone through very professionally.

Make sure to keep your customer database, and let us know where you land.

Good luck, Dan and many thanks for the time you spent helping me with my SCT tunes when I first got my Snake. Your professionalism and commitment to Vipers is second to none and I look forward to the next stage in your evolution.

Dan,

Can't say enough about all the wonderful work you've done on my Viper. You did all the work to keep it on the road, added the supercharger, the methanol, etc. I'm about to pass 225,000 miles and it's all because of you. Great job over the years and thanks for working with me when I was in the LA area and you would let me borrow your truck so you could work on my Viper for the day while I was at clients. Very sad to see DC Performance leaving. Please keep in touch and let me know where you land.

Thanks again,
Gerard

Dan has worked on this car from day one since I bought it new in Santa Monica ....

Last I spoke to Dan, he was making good progress on a new location.

I will see him again on the 11th at the SoCal Viper Luau. Will try to get an update then.

Think we need to pull a Chick-Fil-A on him and fill his shop on opening day to show our support and appreciation : >)

Not only has Dan been the only one to maintain my Gen I, he was the one to check me out on it back in the Claude Short Dodge days. Look forward to stopping by the new location wherever it is!

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you all know although our service center is now closed our online store is still open at modifiedviper.com and we still strongly support the VCA.

Thanks for all of your support and well wishes with the closure of DC Performance. All of us appreciate your business over the years. I must admit that it was discouraging for me after being part of the Viper since it's inception. Our business model with 9 employees and 3 owners just could not ride out the storm, no new Vipers and a poor economy kind of put the nail in the coffin.

I looked at several options moving forward including taking my show to the dealers or working directly with SRT, but I kept coming back to what I love......taking care of you Viper owners and building amazing cars. I've worked ******* a new business model and certainly know what works and what does not. What I have come up with is a smaller, more focused and professional shop. The new operation will have a world class look and provide everything a Viper owner or racer might need, under one roof. One big plus will be a pickup and delivery service. I have much more to share, but I will wait for the launch. I plan my new service center opening in October as soon as I return from VOI.

My question to the So Cal Viper community is what do you want from a new Viper shop?

For those in need I can still help, just give me a call.

Thanks and take care,

Dan Cragin

Hi Dan, Im glad your coming back! My only request would be this..............I'd love to be able to get to your shop without taking that damn 405 Frwy and the 5 Frwy for that matter! A bigger fully enclosed property would be great, but that's preaching to the choir so it doesn't count.

Dan.

Maybe a waiting room with a TV and some auto mags for when we need to hang out.

Most of us found what you were doing was perfect. With money being tight, anything that can be outsourced to maintain service, but not necessary at your own shop, such as painting, dyno, body work, engine work, alignments, etc would allow you to expand your expertise without carrying all the overhead.

Cannot tell you how happy everyone is that you are able to regroup.

Paul
