2004 Black Mamba Pricing Advice

I am looking at selling my Viper and wanted to know what is a reasonable price to ask? The car is in great shape overall. Has some flaws, peeling door handles, some faded trim on driver door, 35K miles but mostly shows like new, always garaged and kept very clean. I dont need to sell it so I could wait if I need to for a better price.

We found 23 Vipers for sale from year group 2004 which have an average asking price of $47K!! Are we getting in the $40's when they sell?

I guessed mid $30's but after a little looking I dont want to give it away and lower everyone elses value!!

Asking and getting are 2 different things, just remember it's easier to lower your price than to raise it?

Be prepared to sit on it for awhile. I would suggest asking mid 40's but open to suggestions. You never know when the right person is going to come along. Sometimes I think your better off having a bit of room for the right person but still keep the price high enough to keep the riff raff away.

GLWS why sell if you don't mind me asking?

I would say start at $46 because its a Mamba as a +, but high miles as a -. You will probably get less, but you need to start high and entertain lower offers. If you start too low, people wonder why. I would think you could get low 40s. I don't see many sell in the upper 30s unless they are really high miles.

Point is, target between 40-45. It will sell in that range. Don't go into the 30s!

Another thing I would say, if the right educated buyer is out there, and they want your particular car, they will completely ignore your asking price and make what they think is the right offer. I had many people quickly drop from the $55K to $47 on my first offer. It was $55, I offer something low like $42, then they come back with something reasonable. You can ask for a million dollars, but a serious buyer will offer you the fair market value anyway.

True. But the 'serious' buyer will make a reasonable offer. You can just safely ignore the crazies looking to take advantage of people in bad situations.

I considered myself a serious buyer. I had the money, but wasn't willing to just pay 'any price' just because I had it. I also wasn't going to try to insult anyone. I did my research, made my case with them on market value, and was able to reach a fair deal for everyone. They are out there. Just not many of them.

If you look at what people WANT, the prices are high. Some people have priced Gen3 cars for close to Gen4 money. Those people just need to time to better understand what their cars are really worth.

I would say high 30s is what you can maybe expect to get, more like 37ish

Sold my 03 supercharged SRT10 with 24k miles and lots of supporting mods couple weeks ago for $42k but had another buyer at $44k the very next day.

^Truth.

You may be better off just trading it in on another car like I did.

Couldn't give my 1,800 mile VR '08 Coupe away for $62,500(Mods + Stock Parts and Max Care warranty until 2015), so I traded it and the dealer gave me 60K, which immediately saved me another $3,600 PA sales tax on the new car. Then I sold off my remaining stock parts and made another 3K.

I think the guy that said mid 40s is right on. Personally, I don't know why you would ever want to sell a Black Mamba. One of the best looking Gen3 cars imo. I have been watching prices lately and it seems they have rebounded nicely. The days of the 35k Gen3 are all but over. My advice..... don't sell it!!
