On Saturday September 8th, we will have our tribute cruise to Shanksville PA to honor the heros that lost their lives on 9/11. We will depart Harrisburg at 09:00 and travel to Bedford Pa and stop for lunch at the Jean Bonnet Tavern. Approx 1 PM we will depart the restaurant for the 1/2 hour ride to the site. I will update this thread as more details become available:usa:

I will be meeting guys in the Lehigh Valley Area at 7:30am at the Comfort Inn 7625 Imperial Way Allentown, PA 18106. This is exit 49B heading east or west on Route 78. If you are coming up the northeast extension, then just jump on 78 West for about 1-2miles and get off exit 49B. We will be leaving promptly at 7:30am.

Carmen, your email said we are departing Harrisburg at 9:00, but this thread says 9:30. I assume the 9:00 is accurate since the email was more recent. Based on that, CT GTS SCUBAPRO and I are meeting at 6:30 AM in Scranton and heading down I-81 to Capital Drive. Anyone from the Northeast that wants to meet, let us know.

I will not be going on the run tomorrow. Some of the guys that I know where meeting me have also cancelled with the severe weather coming to our area. Unfortunately I have made this run in the rain but hail, high wind and possible tornado will keep me home.

Well, the rain mostly held off ... It was a great time, and interesting to watch the memorial change over the years. One of the members brought a limo and most of us got a chauffeured ride to the site. Very nice

Thanks to all that joined us for our tribute cruise, we had a great time. Mostly brief showers off and on for the trip, no heavy storms, and while we were there, it drizzled for about 10 minutes. The Memorial has really changed since the original site, the new walking path is where the fence line used to be and borders the final resting place of the heroes of that day. The wall of names now traces the flight path right down to impact area. Very well done, it is unfortunate that it has to commemorate such a tragic event.
Thanks to Rob for bringing the limo to take some of the folks to the site, it gave folks a great opportunity to get to know each other.
We had a great lunch at the Jean Bonnet Tavern in Bedford and an "interesting" dinner at the Macaroni Grille, I am sure the waiter was happy to see us leave, but not as happy as we were to finally get out of there with almost everyone getting what they ordered:lmao:
All in all everyone had a great trip, although there is some question as to whether or not Mark will be allowed to join us on any more Viper trips:omg:

"there is some question as to whether or not Mark will be allowed to join us on any more Viper trips"

The real question is what version of the stories Mark's wife heard..... I'm still going with they were "life lessons".

Not much we'd admit to in public.... bad waiters, improper language in front of minors (according to Mark), and a teenager's first limo ride.
