SSG is my dream viper color choice. We will see if I can hold out for the premium it pulls. I would not value others opinions, in terms of what color you choose, simply what you want. Plus at the end of the day it is still a viper and no one is really going to argue about that.

I haven't noticed any color pull any appreciable difference in used price.

NO! I'm just looking for specific experiences from SSG owners. What are the general feelings towards the color, specifically non Viper owners? I love it, and will probably end up with it. Just in limited discussions with people, most people are giving me flack over it...nearly as much as a pink Viper would lol

Of course in the end it's my money and my decision, but I'm just seeing what other owners have gone through and if they regret it at all.

Alomst everyone in the general public who has talked with me loved the color, I have gotten more negatives from Viper owners or other car folks.

We still enjoy ours and it hasn't gotten old for us. The big debate in Houston is stripes or no stripe. :D

Great pic!! I have a carbon fiber hood coming tomorrow so I'll have a touch of black on the car now. Can't wait to get it installed.

SSG is a color that is SOOO hard to decide on from pictures only. Pictures just dont do it justice. Ive seen pics where it looked terrible and others where it looks great. In every picture it seems to look different. I can tell you that in person it is STUNNING !!!. I was never a green fan and in fact hated anything that resembled green in a car...until I saw SSG live and up close. I wouldnt hesitate at all. I was also one of the ones that thought VR looked good in pics. Then I saw one live and hated it. It just doesnt seem to suit the car but the good thing is that it will be your car and whatever you like is all that matters. Everyone will have an opinion but I can guarantee you that SSG will probably get the most attention of ANY color on a Viper.

As others have said already do not compromise on color. SSG is an outstanding color. I saw an SSG ACR in person once and it's without a doubt one of the most impressive cars I've ever seen.

had an 08 orange vert with silver stripes over the weekend, taking it to the Vancouver luxury and supercar show.It really grown on me in a very short time and noticed how people were drawn to it more than to my silver/blue GTS right next to it.

Why would you have to defend a colour? As long as you (and your significant other) love SSG, everyone else can stuff it! I've yet to see a bad factory paint scheme on the Vipers (other than the red wheels on the Laguna Seca edition).

I'm not one for flashy colors and never would I have considered a Viper in anything but B/W, B/S or black.... until I saw SSG in person. Couldn't take my eyes off it.

I say go SSG... and if you don't care for it after a year or so of ownership, slap some dolphins on the hood to dress it up.

You know... I never understood when somebody losses an old dog of many years together and then goes and gets a new pup, same breed, same color and names it the same name as the first. :dunno:

That said, this is a new chapeter in your life. You already had the classic blue/white viper right?... now time to stay away from the classic colors like red, yellow, etc and go with the new wow colors.

I was leery about ordering SSG sign unseen and many of my family members thought I was nuts.

Let me tell you, when I picked mine up at the plant, I was completely awestruck. Vipers wear this color SO WELL. You wouldn't believe the positive comments you hear regarding the color as well. Some have even asked me the exact name of the color so they could paint their hot rod. I had one guy that wanted to paint his motorcycle SSG. Regardless, the color is phenomenal...especially outside. One thing I found is that you can never capture the color with a camera very well....so don't look at photos too much. I've seen some photos that look terrible....and others look "ok", but rarely represent the actual way it looks in person. I'd choose it all over again....no regrets at all. Go for it!!!

My favorite color is black with bright Viper red right behind black. Green is no where on my list of favorite colors, but a SSG Viper has some kind of mystique about it. I ordered one in 08 and cancelled it due to rumors about early models having computer issues. I bought a black one after that, but I always felt that something was missing. I finally bit the bullet and bought a 10 SE SSG ACR. The SSG has a gold tint that comes out in the sun. Pics don't do it justice. It gets a lot of attention, but most Vipers do. If you move forward on a SSG, I don't think you will regret it. I like the color. It is not a bad looking ole car.

You will love ssg. First time I saw it, I new that was the color for me. IMHO I think you need the black stripes on the coupe, but on the vert, I prefer no stripe.

I won "Best Viper" at a large car show. It was a totally stock SSG with black stripe 'vert. Everyone thought it was an awesome and outlandish custom paint job. Get it, you won't be disappointed.

The SSG is a favorite of mine, really would like to have it. Just wondered if I would ever get tired of it. VV Orange is fantastic too. I like them with or without stripes. Good luck finding the perfect fit. The Wheels do make a difference in the overall look. However, that too is something only you can decide, and wheels can be changed relatively easily.

I think Ryan will decide at VOI... seeing these cars in person is one thing-- they all look great by themselves-- but seeing them side-by-side will generally polarize you to a personal favorite. I love the Snakeskin Green cars, but they are a little too 'in-your-face' for me to be at home in on certain days. How did I get this screwed up-- introverted and extroverted at the same time? :omg: Driving a Viper is seldom a low-key experience, but I do like to tone it down just a tad off of max wow, and the Copperhead Orange does it for me. Wow with a touch of class. That's exactly how it felt when a local guy had his Gen IV SSG vert parked next to mine. Even though his car was practically brand new-- and stunning, I went away with the gut feel I'd made the right color choice for me.

Go with your gut.
Most colors look far better in person, for example Venom red. In the sun it's striking in pictures not so much.
SSG looks incredible in the sun as well. Just make sure it's the color you want not other peoples opinion.
When I was looking at ACR's in 2009 I wanted to get a white one. And it was in stock at Tomball.
But after listening to a lot of other opinions I chose a Graphite with red stripes.
When it was getting delivered I knew I made a mistake and that's a bad feeling.

Some people just aren't into green, period. It isn't a popular automotive color obviously but the few that like it, really like it (as Nineball pointed out). I like green and orange but will take SSG over VVO anytime. SSG is one of my favorite colors - not common, it's wild, and is a flattering color to the Gen IV Viper. It is a color I would pay extra for. It's also one of the very few colors I would take as a solid but would still prefer stripes with it.

...also, the black center band on these cars is a fantastic true piano black. Can't remember if you were considering ACRs, but if your heart's not absolutely set on a solid SSG or VVO, consider the center band (with or without driver's stripe).
