Any idea where to get a pair....$300+ each seems steap...

I see Jon B has them.. Also going to contact Sean Roe....


Did a Quarter mile event at the weekend and had to put a crash hat on and was wedged against the hard top...

Baz, I sold a pair of OEM seat brackets last week that I modified to be 1.5" drop and adjustable....wish I had know sooner you needed them. If I can find a set of OEM brackets laying around, I'd be happy to modify them for you and send them you way.

I currently have my seat brackets off and would like to know how you modified them, I was just going to cut sections of the old brackets off and weld some new pieces on. Do you have any pics of your old brackets?

Guys, I followed a DIY in the Illustrated's Section here: http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/612361-lowered-my-seat-1-quot-DIY I experimented on how much I could lower the stock brackets and it was about 1.5", this allows me to retain seat travel and lose little, if any, knee room under the bolster. What I found out by lowering the seat in this manner is that the lower I went with the bracket the more seat the oriented closer to the bolster because the bottom back of the seat would rest against the rear tub. So you could go lower (cut out more material) but the seat will have to move forward to avoid resting on the rear tub when installed. For me, that's a problem because with the OEM, un-modified seat brackets, my knee was already against the bolster with the seat moved fully back.

It's VERY important, however, that the identical amount of material is removed from both tracks AND they're identically oriented. In other words, cuts and positioning needs to be identical otherwise your seat travel is going to be a problem.

Really not a bad modification to perform if you can work a RotoZip, a basic welder....measure twice and cut once! :D
