With the price of the GTS in the stratosphere of $130K+ fully loaded, I think it would be interesting to see how most will be planning to pay for their new toy.

So, Paying Cash, Financing, or Can't Afford It either way!

Only pay cash in hand for all my cars & bikes, it's the only thing that keeps my sick gearhead passion under control. Base + Track Pack looks to be my poison on the Gen5 - pending vert design.

Not that I'm buying a Gen V, but I've always paid cash for "toys". That said, with the interest rates you can get from places like PenFed right now, if I was buying my Viper now, I would finance it at the crazy low interest rate instead of laying out the cash for it.

what you should ask is how should I pay?? Not how will i pay... Should pay cash is possible, but will prob finance a small portion.

I can't afford a new one. I think it'll be long time until the price drops enough in the used market for me to own a Gen V. Thankfully, I still love my Gen III :)

My rule with toys has always been the same, if you can't pay cash you shouldn't be buying it. Priorities have me elsewhere for now.

I could go either way. But in the US if you take out a home equity loan the interest is tax deductable and its usualy a much longer term than a car loan. Lock in a long term home equity loan and it costs you nothing. At current rates its free money. That being said put down at least 20-30 percent in case it hits the fan for you and you are upside down which is always a bad place to be. GTS Bruce

Thank god the hood gaps look Ok now right Klamath? Why is $130K the stratosphere? Who cares how you pay for it. You either have the means to pay cash up front or the credit to pay as you go. Either way you have the car............................

With the interest being so low right now, unless you have plenty of cash burning your hands, it makes more sense to either finance it or use the home LOC to pay for it. Keep the cash in your investments.

Yes, the hood gaps are finally looking good in the latest pics. I was saying $130K+ is in the stratosphere when you compare it to the 2010 top model price of $110K and we haven't even seen the price of the new ACR yet.

My rule is always pay cash for toys. But my wife won't let me. :(

I am waiting for somebody to buy a 2014, drive it less than 15k miles in 3-4 years and then sell it. At that point, I will evaluate my investments and see if I can splurge. As awesome as the new Viper is, retiring a few years sooner is very important to me. I am also challenged because my 2000 RT/10 is NOT for sale.

I'll have to wait for someone that buys, and lets it sit, and jump on it a few years down the road. And you know there will be a ton of those sitting around. The majority of these cars dont even get driven, its that, i gotta have it attitude that saves me big money down the rode.....

Actually, it's my wife that really wants the car (and me too, just a little:)), but she wants to make it HER daily driver. What a conundrum (not really).

I'll will absolutley hate the fact that some people will have the car and sell it higher than the MSRP.

Im a cash buyer but will not buy it new. When I see a vert at 70-80k thats a good toy money range.

I typically pay cash but it's tough to do that these days. I can take a loan a 1.9%-3.9% and I typically do much better than that in the market. Point is I'd consider doing a loan if market continues to significantly outperform the interest on a loan...

I've always felt like I would like 3 Really Nice Cars say 40k each, than 1 car for 120k! This way you have a Really Good selection to choose from when you get up in the mornings! jmo
