Go with Passport. You can track where your car is via GPS online and the driver will actually keep you updated on his route and such if you call and ask. I used Reliable once and had no clue where my car was for weeks until they called the morning of delivery.

I'll tell you, I have tried many. I used Intercity a few years ago and was extremely impressed. They are truly white glove service. I just sold my SSG yesterday and the buyer also used Intercity. I was once again extremely impressed. They are typically a little more $$$ than other carriers, but their careful attention to detail is unsurpassed. A lot of the drivers are husband/wife teams and are just great people. The driver called me 4 times in the past 2 days just to provide me an update with where they were. I knew the exact time they would arrive. They also called the buyer numerous times to let him know. Communication was excellent. I have used Reliable and a couple smaller outfits recommended to me in the past. They were "good", but nothing like Intercity.

TFX But there in Canada .....lol ! :omg:

I would never use tfx. They shipped my viper from california. Scraped the front fascia on the loading ramp on the first delivery. Driver was to lazy to put wood down on the uneven road surface. When the car arrived 5 weeks later the car was strapped to the rim spokes which left marks in the clear coat on all 4 wheels, one rim worse than the others which they admitted to. On top of that multiple scratches on the car, one that was really deep on the drivers side rear quarter panel about 10 inches long. This scratch was also documented. Then I find out the car was loaded onto 3 trucks before it got to me. No wonder it was damaged.

Final outcome was the front fascia was already scraped so tfx said not their problem that it got dragged across the diamond plate ramp surface which spider cracked the clearcoat. The rim they agreed to pay $150 for the repair. The large sratch they sent an employee out with a buffer to polish it out. He ended up removing all the clear coat and now the rear quarter needs to be cleared and maybe repainted. Who would of thought that to buff out a deep scratch you have to wear down the surrounding surface to the same depth of the scratch. That was worth another $150. So for all that it appears I get a $300 cheque to fix the damages which won't even come close. Then it turns out I am responsible for the damage deductable which is $200 so my cheque i get is for $100. What a joke. And apparently these guys are the official delivery company for Ferrari North America.

Forgot to mention that the owner blamed me for the delivery problems due to the fact that I contacted them when I heard the car was scraped on the original pickup. He said I'm one of those customers they get that are never satisfied. Yeah sure, no one would be concerned about the vehicle condition after hearing about the way it was loaded. Use these guys at your own risk. The owner also said "at the end of the day its just car, it can be fixed." That explains everything.

Geez, this sounds like an owners worst nightmare (I guess it could always be worst though)! I think that a good many of the guys on here used Intercity for the VOI (& thats who our PCA uses, just in case you're not familiar its the Porsche Club of America), if nothing else you could always ask Marv S. or your local chapter president or vice president! jmo

For Canada, Tfx was recommended. All I can do is share my experience.

Pirate, did you ever decide who to go with? If you do call Intercity, ask for Dave or Linda Wilson or Jim Bergeron, any of them will take care of you just make sure you tell them you're a member of the VCA! Also, ontario thanks for sharing that with us cause word of mouth is the Best Advertisement, Good or Bad! jmo

I had a similar experience only with Passport. Couldn't track car via GPS as it was "broken" in my transporters truck.
No contact or communication whatsoever with driver despite numerous calls.
Driver finally calls the day of delivery and is hopelessly lost, not easy to do on Long Island.
I went out of my way to meet the driver miles away from my home (despite paying for door to door service) and he was the most surly grumpy guy I ever met.
AND they were the most expensive of all the carriers I contacted, but were a VCA recomendation.
Never again.

I have tried tons of different auto transport comp. Most of them were not as good as I expected them to be :( Last one I tried was Montway. Actually they were good.

It really is amazing that companies fail so bad at customer service. Just a little goes a long way. Now, you are jaded (correctly) against Passport for life and have no issue telling EVERYONE about it.

Just the slightest bit of acting like humans from Passport would have gone the extra mile.
