Would you drive your viper 2500 km to florida? My concern is blowing a tire and the availability of the tires is scarce. Opinions?

How old are the tires? PS1 or PS2?
I would have no problem with installing an outside plug as a temporary fix as you are not stuck on the side of the road. We had two cars with kits going down to VOI.

I like the Plug idea. I already have 3 of them at least in one tire :smirk: Ill put a new set of tires on and bring a plug kit.

I worried about that too with VOI, then it occured to me - a 5000km
round trip would essentially be the distance between an oil change.
What are the chances anything mechnical going wrong during this
particular oil change vs any other.

But if you are really worried, the other thing you could do as
insurance would be to to make some contacts enroute - I (for
example) have a set of old tires not doing anything, I have no
doubt you'll pass by 20+ other owners with parts laying
around who would be happy to lend a spare part for a week
or two. Also there is probably a hundred trailers along the
way too if you have something more significant happen.

You'll be fine. Headaches happen regardless of what you
drive, but I would love to see how much support the the
MDX Club of American has to offer in central TN... :)

Did the trip from Ottawa to Naples. No problems or issues with the car. Had a blast in New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia on the I 81. Nothing but thumbs up from other drivers.

Drove back and forth from Indy to Charlotte, lots of fun. Will do long trip again. Wife even learned how to pack less.

My only issue with the drive from Charlotte NC to Ontario Canada was dealing with the emotional strain of driving a dirty viper.

In sixth gear we were averaging around 25 mpg. Now when we hit the nice winding roads, we were at 20 mpg. Overall we had filled up 5 times , with some spirited driving.

We drove our new Hennessey 650R Venom Coupe from Dallas Texas all the way back to Vancouver Island, via Palm Springs; had an absolute blast, you can do 100 MPH in Texas without any tickets!! The Viper loves 6th gear and the gas consumption really drops.

I even had to drive thru a snow storm in Washington State to get home, that was pretty nerve wracking, but the car didn't miss a beat, the Highway Patrol couldn't believe his eyes, totally amazed and very pleasantly surprised at the peformance.

I would not hesiate to go again; and yes you must pack light.

Cheers,

Happy Vipering :headbang:
