anyone running agressive rear offsets on their 19/20 set up?

I'm working with HRE on my new wheels and really want to do an aggressive rear offset to maximize the rear lip. Wanted to see what everyone else here is running. HRE is recommending a rear 56mm on a 13"rear. Is anyone running 52/50/48 maybe?

What if you do a mockup using spacers? Or will that only solve width issues? Im sure what you want to know are offsets because of our big ass calipers.

That would be fine if i had a set of 19/20 at home to play with. Im trying to see how far you can push the rear wheels out before they start looking like they are pushed out to far. With that figured out i can have the lowest offset built to maximize the rear lip. For example. HRE wants to build a 56mm. What if you go with a 52mm, will the wheel still look ok and not look like its pushed out to much? How about 50 or 48?

are you planning to lower your car a lot? that also has to be taken into consideration also.

yes def will be sitting on top of the fenderwells but you can fix that issue with camber.

On my wheels, if you look at it. They do stick out just a little bit. It's not bad though. IIRC they told me that for Vipers, it shouldn't stick out no more than about 5mm out the quarter panel. But then again running 21s out back might make a little difference than running 20s.

Here are the recommended offsets from the following companies. This means if you did not instruct them on how to build your wheel, you had it built the following way. Rears only

Vellano...............+58
Modulare............+56
IForged..............+58
Forgiato.............+55
HRE..................+56

I may be wrong here but the diameter of the wheel doesn't matter when trying to figure offsets. Only the width. Now tire diameter is a different story, taller tires with a different offset could result in a rub.

What's the stock wheel offset on the 19s? Anyone know the stock back spacing as well?

Whenever I get my car back, I can measure my offsets of my 19"/20" Modulare Forged wheels. I'll measure the space between the spoke and the caliper and can determine what offset you can run without crazy camber.

Disclaimer: it may be another 2 months before I have my car back, haha

Its a fine line when considering bigger wheels and larger offsets. The dynamics of the suspension are limited, so consider your car may ride very harsh and handle poorly if setup with larger wheels, a tire with a thin sidewall and a lower ride height. The car can be setup to look awesome when dropped and with a bigger wheel/tire combo, but it may ride like a truck, have horrible bump steer and bottom out on the slightest bumps. To do this right, you really need to change the shocks and bump steer the car, if not you may negatively effect the handling of the car.

My 2 cents.

So here is a conclusion to my research. HRE will build a 47mm offset 13" rear wheel with a 4.5" lip. With that offset you rear wheel will stick out like the black car in absolutehanks link above. Now this is where it gets a little custom. HRE claims there's only 5mm space between the rear spoke and the caliper. If that number is correct you can shave the rear mounting pad an extra 3mm to get your offset down to 50mm. That's a 6mm diffrience between HREs preffered offset of 56mm on a 4" lip wheel. 6mm is about 1/4. Now for anyone that has dealt with clearance issues on a lowered car knows a 1/4 inch can cause a huge problem. I plan on running my car as low as absoluthanks red coupe so I need all the clearance I can get. For you guys that want a bigger lip and don't mind the look of the black car in the link above, follow these simple directions and you are good to go. One thing I forgot to mention is that you only need enough room to clear a credit card between your spoke and brake caliper that's why shaving the mounting pad mentioned about down 3mm and be left with a 2mm clearance is more then enough. I run this clearance on my escalade with 6piston calipers and custom wheels with zero issues for 4 years now.

With that said I went with a 56mm offset and a 4"lip.

Just to give you an idea of how much my stick out the rear. The wheel itself sticks out very little. Its mainly tire that you are seeing that gives it the aggressive stance.

I mainly rub going up and down the curb to my driveway. But on the road, I only rub when going at higher speeds and having dips in the road. Nothing bad though. Besides that, the answer would be no.

Thanks for the input. Anyway to locate your invoice and see what the offset is :)
