Hi Everyone,

Yesterday it's a nice sunny day in LA, so I decided to take the Viper out for a ride, after I drove for a couple miles I heard a click click on the passenger door, didn't know what's going on till I made a left turn the door swing wide open while the car in motion luckily no one drive next to me, then I pulled over and close it, a few seconds later there come the click click again and it open itself. The Viper is 2002 R/T10.

What's went wrong? Is the door actuator malfunction? I hope someone can help me out. Thanks

Eric

My guess would be a short in the wiring harness bundle between the door and the body.

the little button that opens the door is not releasing all the way so it keeps triggering the circuit. it may not be the black button itsself but the actuator that the black button pushes on

Thanks Guys, So 2 things I need to check on, first is the push button may stuck on position trigger the actuator. Second is a short in the wiring harness bundle between the door and the body. Thanks again I would report it back as soon as I have it figured it out.

You can test the switch and see what it does by slowly opening/closing the door and listening for the click... and also the lights. Do it in the dark like in your garage and see if the light is coming on/off as it should when compared to the drivers door.
You'll likely need a new switch.
Good luck.

I had that happen once....I sprayed a little WD-40 around the black button and never had that happen again...the button was sticking.
