Was curious for those that have a good component set in their Viper, is it enough speaker for you? I am a guy that loves to crank the stereo. Hows the sound stage with the tweeter facing you? I have pmed a guy on VC who actually put some custom speaker panels behind the seat that I thought was interesting.

I have some crappy Pioneer replacements in the car now and it sounds horrible, so will one set of components and a subwoofer ultimately do the trick for the average music guy who likes to crank the volume? I don't know anyone local with a full system so relying on feedback from the forum.

Thanks!

The sound stage is decent but if you really want to bring it up you need to make some tweeter pods in the A-pillars. Although I've heard some systems with horn tweeters under the dash that sounded amazing and the sound stage was at eye level. That was a competition car though.

If you just want an average system then just replace them with decent set of components. Alpine, Focal etc. But if you really want great audio with full range clarity, imaging and sound stage you need to make some customer speaker pods.

I had some rear speaker pods made for me. The pictures are in my gallery.

Yea I pmed you earlier to chat about those speaker pods. I have a friend who is selling some decent components locally that I might pickup, specialize in good mid bass and clean treble. I was just kind of curious what everyone was running and if anyone was doing extra like you and how it turned out.

As far as rear imaging you really have no choice but building those pods. The speakers are so low high frequencies can't get out. I don't think you'll find very many people putting empahsis on sound. The common quote is "I only hear what's under the hood" or "The only music is the one coming from my exhuast".

I obviously don't drive a Gen I/II, so I probably won't be much help, but what are you planning on driving these speakers with? Aftermarket amp I assume? If so, how much power?

Yep aftermarket amp, not sure the power yet will end up depending on the speakers. Most of the nice sets want to see 100w per side, so something thay can handle that. Still working on what I want for sub/s so not sure on amp for that just yet.

They're just Panasonic components. But my amp is a JLAudio 500/5

You don't need to spend a fortune on speakers. What counts is how it's tuned. I've heard stock cheap $2.00 paper cone speakers sound awesome. It's up to the tuner and how it's tuned to the vehicle.

I run the Dynaudio Esotec 242 components, which are listed to be able to handle 100W each...I'm actually feeding them 160W each from my 5-channel amp with the 4 channels bridged to 2. It definitely gets loud enough, so I'd look for at least that much if you want to be able to hear the music with the car going down the road.

I was looking at the Rainbow SLC 265 NG Kicks. They are made in Germany and have been around awhile with great reviews. I have def heard of the ones your running as well.

I like having a nice stereo system in my viper. I can enjoy it and the sound of the viper. Here's what I put in mine...

2001 Stereo upgrade

I actually read through yours, looks great but RT10 will be slightly different stage wise.
