Hi:

I have a Gen III (2004) that has off and on ideling issues. Every sensor has been replaced without success. The only item not replaced has been the PCM. The car has this issue frequently, but not all of the time where the idel will ramp up and down from 700-1,600 RPM sometimes 3-4 times in quick succession before ideling normally. It sometimes happens the minute the engine starts and then sometimes goes away. Other times, the engine runs normally and this issue shows up after 1/2 hour of driving. At times the engine will hang at 1,500-1,700 RPM for 10-15 seconds and then idels down to where it should. All vacuum lines have been checked and are normal. I have learned that this is or has been an issue with Gen IV, but not Gen III Vipers. Any help or assistance or ideas are very much welcome. I hope to hear from someone. Thanks for the assistance. Bud

When you say "every sensor" could you be more specific and also do you have any codes?

Any mods whatsoever to your Viper?

Idle hang seemed to be a common issue with the single blade throttle bodies at times. You can slightly adjust the throttle position sensor if that was already replaced.

Might be a dumb question, but have you cleaned the throttle body lately? Sometimes build-up around the blade(s) can cause erratic idling. I'm sure Dan has you pointed in the right direction though, good luck.
