Extremely happy with my custom seats made by Status. They had to be clearanced for the doors to shut, but I think most would have to be, not a lot of extra width in the gen iv.

Pics to follow.

I'm looking to have my stock seats redone with some extra padding in the lumbar so I don't look like a hunchback after a long trip. Other than that I like the stock seats.

I like the factory seats too and feel great but a nice pair of exotic carbon fiber back seats would look bad ass!

I assume airbag lights will be on? Is there a solution for this already?

I didn't know the Viper had an airbag sensor in the seat?? But on a lot of cars that do, getting rid of the light when your sensor goes is as easy as unplugging it and completing the circuit.

Where are those pics Drew???

Here are a few pictures. The passenger seat in gen iv (dont know if the other gens have them) does have an occupancy sensor.
Both airbag lights on my dash are aluminated when I run the aftermarket seats, not sure if there is a work around, but I dont find them
bothersome.
The seats sit deep in the car, the carbon and kelvin fiber buckets would not be really seen, they weighed more than the fiberglass buckets(maybe cause the carbon is overlaid on a fiberglass bucket) and the additional cost didnt make sense.
These are what I chose for my ride.

Set where I want them, no one else drives my car....perfect.
Drive 1500km one way for a track day, more comfort, more support than stock in the perfect seating position for me.
Biggest concern is having passenger on the road and no airbags. If I plan on a road trip with wife or a friend, stock seats can be installed within a realistic hour, custom bases mount to Oem seat holes.

There has to be more cars out there with non OEM seats installed. What other brands do people have installed, fitment issues, work arounds? Pluses and negatives, pictures too

As far as airbag sensors go, how many wires run to the plug? I can't see this being more than a NO or NC contact. Which leaves either a circuit that in normal operating remains closed, a simple jumper should do, or a circuit that normally remains opened, which unplugging should be fine, but maybe it's needs a reference for the relay.

I would honestly just prefer the airbag went off even without a passenger in the seat, in the grand scheme of accidents, the cost of an extra airbag is peanuts when you consider the amount of money that it takes to out one of these back together.

Actually there is more to it. Gen iv cars(can only speak of my experience)seat belt connection is a two wire nc contact, with Oem seatbelt connected it opens the circuit. So with a 6 point harness installed the seat belt light never comes on and the chime never beeps. The air bags have a module, than takes information from a seat position sensor in both driver and passenger seats, and a weight sensor in the passenger seat. Varying resistances inputting information from these devices to the module. I didn't want to rip these sensors out of the factory seats to install in the custom seats. Doesn't cause any problems with the vehicle operation, air bags will not function, I use a 6 point harness, neckgen device and helmet, so I'm fine on the track not having airbags functioning. Long street drives with a passenger, it's a quick re and re to the Oem seats for safety on the road.

I was hopping for the same thing. Seems like most viper owners like to leave their interiors stock, except for the ********* track guys. I've been getting some good ideas on the 6speed forum. Those Porsche guys runs some extremely nice aftermarket seats that would look killer in our vipers. Im definetly going to get a set.
